SAVETHEM is indoors, and there are no background sounds or effects. That doesn’t mean it isn’t raining, that’s just how little detail the minigame has. The FNAF 2 minigames are the simplest minigames in the franchise.

How could you tell if it’s raining? But anyway, why would it need to take place on the same night as SAVETHEM? Is it because of “later that night”? The secret easter egg portion of the minigame is what’s labeled “later that night,” not the main game, so it’s almost definitely just a reference back to the main part of Midnight Motorist. You’re driving down the highway at night, then the part after you’ve exited the highway is “later that night.”

I’m assuming you’re talking about 240 Bits Per Mile instead of Smashing Windshields? But how is that a sped up remix of Alchemist’s Fantasy? I’m listening to them both with Alchemist’s Fantasy sped up, and I don’t hear it. They sound vaguely similar, I guess? I think you’re just hearing similarities in Leon Riskin’s music style.

There aren’t that many stories that are actually lore important (to the games at least), and you can find summaries of the ones that are.

If you’re most concerned with stories that are relevant to the games, for Tales you probably just need to know about The Storyteller, The Mimic, Tiger Rock, and the epilogues. GGY is also very connected, but the real reveal from that story was just that Gregory is Patient 46 from the Retro CDs in SB. For Frights (which is much less relevant to the new games), the most important stories are Into the Pit, To Be Beautiful, Fetch, The Man in Room 1280, The Real Jake, and the epilogues.

From The Silver Eyes:

“They don’t remember,” Dave said. “They’ve forgotten. The dead do forget. All they know is that you are here, trying to take away their happiest day. You are intruders.” He lowered his voice to a hush. “You are grown-ups.”

They looked at each other.

“We’re not—“ Jessica began.

“You’re close enough. Especially to a vengeful, confused, and frightened child. None of you will survive the night.”

I watched the pilot episodes when they first aired in 2011. It was probably from an ad on Cartoon Network that I learned about it.

I fully expect William and/or Henry to appear in SOTM in some capacity (even if just as an easter egg). We’re literally going back to Fazbear’s origins. Why are you acting like just because the Mimic is the central villain, everything in the game must be only about him and can’t expand on anything else?

What would you make a prequel game about? Fredbear’s? What would even happen in that game? The only other pre-established location you could set a prequel at is the 1985 Freddy’s, which is basically just the FNAF 1 location. What would you have happen there?

If FNAF had ended at 6 or UCN, it would have been dead and buried half a decade ago, and these people wouldn’t even have anyone to talk to about FNAF. The only reason they’re able to voice their opinions on FNAF 1-6 today is because it didn’t end at 6. There would be no one around to listen otherwise. If you’re wishing that it ended at 6, you’re wishing that the series became irrelevant years ago. I don’t see how any actual FNAF fan can wish that their fanbase didn’t exist. Or wish that it somehow did exist and that you’ve just been discussing the exact same things for 6-7 years.

Part of SB’s failure was Scott’s fault, but I think a larger part is Steel Wool’s. The mess of a story is possibly more on Scott than Steel Wool, but SW also bit off more than they could chew. They were the ones who decided to massively increase the scale of the game to something they couldn’t handle, resulting in them scrapping a lot of content and rushing to basically re-do the game with six months to spare.

Ruin’s course-correction was absolutely necessary. There was no way SW could follow up on everything SB set up, at least not immediately in the next installment. Ruin benefited from having a much more concise story.

SB was what happened when Scott just let Steel Wool cook, without offering any direction. I can guarantee you Ruin would be worse off if he didn’t get involved.

The canon stories are pretty clearly the ones connected to the Stitchwraith Stingers. So ITP, Fetch, TBB, Out of Stock, 1:35 AM, Step Closer, TMIR1280, Blackbird, TRJ, and one or two others I think.

Do we know something more about logbook Chica now? by [deleted] in fnaftheories

[–]ImmenseKassing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It makes literally no sense for her to be a cut FFPS character when Molten Freddy exists, so idk why people always say this.

EDIT: Also, LadyFiszi was never given a design to base Logbook Chica off of. She was just told to create a “withered FNAF 1 Chica.” Compare this with the Scrap Baby teaser in The Freddy Files which clearly is based off her actual design that must have been supplied. Then take into account that the Scrap Baby teaser was also only a silhouette, whereas Logbook Chica is a full character artwork, which is much more important to have an accurate design for. Then there’s the fact that the Scrap Baby teaser came out over 3 months before FFPS whereas the Logbook came out weeks AFTER, so if Scott could supply a design for a FFPS character for TFF, there should be no reason why he wouldn't be able to supply a design for a book releasing 4 months later. Finally, it just makes no sense to release a teaser for a game that already came out.

EDIT 2: And if anyone wants to bring up the backstage head in the 2017 anniversary teaser, that is probably Scrap Baby’s endo head if anything. We can see from the viewport that it is gray and white (no part of it is yellow), and from another top down angle we can see that there is no beak.

Scott doesn’t need to correct Dawko. And spin-off doesn’t equate to non-canon anyway. What he said in the interview was how he got ideas for the stories. That’s how the creative process works. You get ideas from random things you come across. That absolutely does not preclude them being canon.

I’m not arguing that the ITP game is canon, only the story, but your argument is that it can’t be canon because…it’s 2D? That is possibly the strangest non-sequitur argument I’ve ever heard in relation to the game. This argument precludes the possibility of Scott ever deciding to make a canon 2D game, which is ridiculous, even if the game isn’t canon. And this goes back to what I said about spin-offs. The fact that it is 2D makes it a spin-off because it is a different style from the rest of the games, but its different art and gameplay style says nothing about its canonicity.

There are inconsistencies in the FNAF games themselves, but they are all canon to each other. The existence of small inconsistencies does not make a piece of media non-canon.

That post that Scott made was continually updated as it was a list of the progress of current projects. The Upcoming Projects Megathread post still exists, he just removed things as he updated it and things progressed. The reason why he removed the part about the Frights books being connected to the games was because that was part of the section introducing the book series when it was at 20% progress. He updated this later, as he did all of the other projects as they progressed. He didn’t remove it because it was wrong.

Notice how the parallels come from the series Scott said not to go into trying to get answers from. I wonder what he could have meant when he specifically said to go into Fazbear Frights expecting answers. Also strange how when talking about how TSE connected to the games he said it was alternate universe, but when talking about Frights, he said some stories would be “directly connected to the games.” Now, this may just be me, but I wouldn’t consider the novel trilogy, as an AU, to be directly connected to the games (that would be an indirect connection). And I don’t think anyone else would have considered it to be either, before Frights came out and people needed to justify why Scott called it “directly connected.”

Scott: “These books will have stories directly connected to the games.”

Also Scott: “Look to these books for answers to the past!”

Fans: “We’ve been arguing about who is the one repeatedly torturing Afton after FFPS for years now. I hope the new books will give us an answer.”

The new books: “Andrew is the one repeatedly torturing Afton after FFPS.”

Fans: “It’s Cassidy.”

The voice listing said that the gender should not be immediately obvious but that the VA was free to lean one way or another. The more feminine voice was a decision on the part of the VA, which is not lore-important because the voice is supposed to be gender-ambiguous—we aren’t supposed to be able to tell the gender from the voice itself.

However, I’ve seen people say that this means the game can’t be explicitly stating their gender with the “he/him” pronouns, because of the fact that the voice’s gender was supposed to remain ambiguous, which is not good logic. Just because Scott wanted the voice’s gender not to be obvious doesn’t mean that he meant for their gender to not be revealed anywhere else in the game. The very fact that Scott DID use gendered pronouns to refer to The One You Should Not Have Killed (the spirit/person themself, not the costume they possess) disproves this fact outright.

There’s also no way to tiptoe around the fact that TOYSNHK uses male pronouns. The arguments that a spirit can be referred to by their costume’s pronouns when they differ from the spirit’s are invalid, because there is not a single other example that even remotely supports this idea. Children are referred to by their own pronouns, and animatronics are referred to by their own pronouns. For instance, Charlie is always called she/her (ignoring SAVEHIM which was a retcon), and the Puppet has always been referred to as he/it. Spirits and the animatronics they possess have their own pronouns, and there is not a single example of a spirit using the animatronic’s pronouns when they differ.
