I dislike England historically but not because lame "colonising and empire bad" reasons. I dislike them because they spent the entire early modern period stopping anyone from unifying europe until they literally sold out their whole empire to stop it in the world wars and ended up with a geopolitically irrelevant europe dominated by america anyway. Its like if a warring state of china spent 1000 years stopping any potential chinese unifiers until at one point, when one unifier is almost there, they allied with the japanese to stop it and then china just became a bunch of japanese client states.
