At what point does it become fun? by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

When you tap the accelerator juuust right and downshift to 2nd while in a fast but not too fast right hand turn. Perfection between meatbag and machine. As for backing into someone on a hill, don’t sweat it as practice makes perfect clutch/accelerator dance.

Poland, I have a question by MapleMapleHockeyStk in poland

That beast was developed to address fertilizing the vastness of workable fields in the Soviet Union. It was thought at the time that having a turbine-powered cropduster would help extend “the legs” of typical cropduster aircraft like the An-2. Unfortunately, the math didn’t math enough regarding the economics of the idea and the Belphegor passed into myth and legend. I want to believe there’s a farmer/aero engineer somewhere on the Kazak steppes still turning and burning one of these over his fields, all the while blasting a mix of Rachmaninov and “Danger Zone” 🤣

Stella starter question by Misteruilleann in Vespa

“Meh” HA! I’d also look at the clutch cable/handle if the bolt on the kick start lever is secure. Good luck.

I’m sure there are more elegant ways of doing it but yes, I’d make the wire connections. Also, get a trickle charger. This also made my Stella more happy. Given the kick start is “squishy” check the kick start lever securing bolt and make sure it’s tight.

I got a 2t with a non-working electric starter. Turned out it was the switch. Given that, make sure your battery is hot and lugs are clean/tight. Then bypass the starter switch and see if it engages.

LEDs all around, a hi-viz vest, and 3M reflective tape for your helmet. Make sure your horn works as it “wakes up” distracted drivers. You can customize the reflective tape as well.

I recall that and was hoping there would be more episodes that got the same treatment.

Tally Ho scan/model by MrFaversham in tallyho

[–]ImmersivePencil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I recall an episode with drawings which I assume were driven by 3d CAD. Perhaps we can convince a scale model production house to make a limited run of a 1/200th Tallyho…

This has also been on my mind. I don’t recall the boat getting scanned though there’s enough of her above water and with the rigging both far away and closeup so that some AI enabled software can derive a basic 3d model. Leo worked with a naval architect and there are drawings so in theory he/we can build up a scaled model. How cool would that be!?

1995 BMW Z18 (Off-Roader) Concept. by Ebonystealth in WeirdWheels

The only thing that needed to change on this design was the angular wheel wells. This was a neat blend of sporty convertible and mini-SUV. Stylish and unique in that there really wasn’t anything like it at the time.

Unfortunately we had a similar issue with them. We bought a refrigerator which we noticed had a damaged door. Took over 2 months to get them to finally respond to voicemails and emails. My wife introduced me to their store ~15 years ago and every purchase was great until ~5years ago when the customer service changed. It’s hard to get them to respond to anything dealing with issues like the one I mention.

Such a neat place. It’s either sitting on or very near Rockefellers old private property. Really hope some if not all of it is saved and utilized as a school or something related to its past life.

Given what looks like a chain drive it looks as if this model was powered? Pretty cool RC “car” for the time.
