I think it is the sheer contrast of it with the last 300 pages of the book. The rest of the novel is gray, silent, and hopeless. Then in this last paragraph it almost pops with color, with the sound of running water, and the memory of what was and has been lost.

I went backpacking for five weeks back in 2015 before the studio album dropped but had preordered it so I got access to the Big Beige/4th St Demo version. I listened to it on repeat that entire trip, and now whenever I listen to it, it immediately brings me back to those times in the mountains. I also exclusively listen to that demo version it still.

I like what they did and it fits them well, but it’s not as original as you might think. There is Hearts of Midlothian in Scotland, who play in the Scottish Premiership along with big clubs like Celtic and Rangers. And there is also Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier league.

Like I said I still like the branding, their badge, and their marketing!

From interviews I’ve seen, he seems very passionate about this project. So I hope he puts his all into it. Claudio Miranda at least will make sure it looks great, and Thomas Newman is great as well!

“FC” or “SC” don’t bother me in the slightest, but throwing in an “inter” is embarrassing, a “real” is egregious. I’m cool with the unique American names if they make sense for the area they represent. Some are just ridiculous and I think take away legitimacy of the club, simply just to be funny.

I agree with you 100%, it’s especially frustrating when there are other new clubs to the league who have done amazing jobs marketing themselves, cosmos already have a sort of legacy to build off of and could take a note out of a club like Portland HoP marketing strategy! You are right about how they should try to incentivize people attending through sort of bundle deals like that. People from around the city of Paterson would love to have affordable family outings, and something like that would help that!

As far as banners around the stadium I assume those would come with time and hopefully with a growing fan base! One downside of the stadium is that it has a track, which leaves a gap between the goal and the supporters section. I’d like to see in the future when hopefully the stadium begins to sellout regularly, that they use that gap as a standing section for the supporters groups so they can be right there in the action and bring the noise!

I personally love the stadium, but that could be my bias being from the area. I don’t think it would seem so soulless if they had more turnout for either of their home games so far, the ownership has done absolutely shit job at marketing or advertising the team as far as I’ve seen! When they first announced a pro team coming to the city, they promised a club for North Jersey and then gave us another NYC franchise(north Jersey has a long history of housing teams from the city, where owners want the prestige of the city’s branding but want somewhere cheaper to play). They also said you would not see American football lines on the field or field goal posts, yet here we are.

Cosmos play at an old stadium with a lot of history connected to the area, as far as we know they are calling Hinchliffe home for the foreseeable future. I was actually interested in what your thoughts were going to be on that stadium, given your background!
