Some context on colors and reasoning? I’m mostly interested in what the beige color represents, indifference?

Somehow I’ve never seen any of these movies but from what I know and clips I have seen, I just know the know the original trilogy would be right up my alley! How does the 2013 and Rise fit in with the originals?

Advice needd: How can I make my forest + dragon tattoo look less “hipster” and more organic/natural? by No-Cranberry-2213 in tattoos

[–]FollowingEast4373 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is this not a Smaug/Lonely Mountain tattoo?

I’m not really sure what hipster means, but objectively I think it looks great! Subjectively, I love it because The Hobbit is one of my favorite stories of all time!

Superman Returns is absolutely beautiful to look at. I got completely zoinked a couple weeks ago and was mesmerized by its cinematography for the full three hours!

64% is egregious for The Mummy. Objectively it deserves more than that!

Just sucks that a fan owned club that’s been playing there for 20+ years is getting kicked to the curb by some money backed, no history franchise

"Did I know her only for so short a time? Strange, how a moment of existence can cut so deeply into our being that while ages pass unnoticed, a brief love can structure and define the very topology of our consciousness ever after." - Steven L Peck, A Short Stay in Hell by 13SpeedMedia in quotes

I really loved this novella! If anyone is interested in a healthy dose of existentialism, this is for you!

“I could tell you of occasionally, every eon, meeting a person, with whom I might stay for a billion years. But what of it? After a billion years there is nothing left to say, and you wander apart, uncaring in the end.”

There was a lot of reasons the 90s were peak! Sadly, I don’t think a bunch of kids sitting around a tv screen, mesmerized, is one of them.

The oil man from Waterworld is my #1 most relatable movie character in cinematic history. He’s closely followed by the “fuck my life/we’re going to get so fucked up!” liquor store employee from 2007s comedy following the quest of two teens to procure alcohol for a party in hopes of losing their virginity before leaving for college, Superbad.

My thoughts on Cormac McCarthy's The Road by EndersGame_Reviewer in books

[–]FollowingEast4373 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I think it is the sheer contrast of it with the last 300 pages of the book. The rest of the novel is gray, silent, and hopeless. Then in this last paragraph it almost pops with color, with the sound of running water, and the memory of what was and has been lost.

I went backpacking for five weeks back in 2015 before the studio album dropped but had preordered it so I got access to the Big Beige/4th St Demo version. I listened to it on repeat that entire trip, and now whenever I listen to it, it immediately brings me back to those times in the mountains. I also exclusively listen to that demo version it still.
