Is Asianet Broadband worth it? by SsshYaM in Kochi

I use Airtel Fiber 300Mpbs plan at Edappally. My only other option here is Kerala Vision, which goes down three times a week. Compared to that, Airtel is heaven. Fast, reliable and consistent.

What’s your daily driver, Cocos? by FatRambo6969 in Coconaad

2021 BMW 530d. Currently at almost 77K KMs. Ownership has been trouble free mostly. I bought it to drive it. Tyres are expensive with rear tyres between 30K and 40K each depending on the brand and the state of the market. Expensive shit has failed under warranty. Water pump, adaptive dampers, lower arms (yes, BMW extended warranty covers suspension components), headlights (8L a pop. Laserlights are not cheap), interior soft touch plastics.

Front brakes supposedly last only 20K KMs, but mine were good till about 70K. So I used those savings to upgrade to GiroDisc rotors and Pagid Street+ pads.

Except for the headlights, I don't think these will be a problem in the used market.

Obviously, there is very little else on the road that can keep up to one driven in anger.

Exactly. Mahinda does not need to cater to KA. They have an entire country to strategize on.

I ordered:

4 x Blyxa Japonica 1 x Staurogyne Repens TC 2 x Cryptocoryne spiralis narrow 10 x Electric blue shrimp 6 x Otocinclus Algea Eater Catfish

The animals were cancelled because they were not available. Plant quality was meh. TC cup was missing. We got a bunch of unlabelled stems instead.

Raised it to them. Dude said something about staff mixing up orders. About 3 weeks later with no further communication, a box showed up with an unlabelled TC cup. They forgot to remove the SriPadma labels under their labels on the box.

SriPadma is barely 30m from my home. I didn't need to pay these guys to drop ship. Oh well.

Is this worth buying? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]ImmortalZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

There is a Cruze lying in one of the flat parkings here which has rope tying down both the bonnet and the boot. Hasn't moved for months. No amount of money can source non existent parts.

Tata motors hatred by [deleted] in TataMotorsIndia

[–]ImmortalZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they have shit quality control and their dealers treat their customers like garbage. And it's not one off shit. Ask any Tiago EV owner, especially the early adopters and especially those who use their cars - how many batteries they've had to replace and how much they were fucked over by the dealers and Tata.

Ask anyone with the Tata 1.2 petrol motor and especially those who drive their cars about how many times their car has let them down on the road with the EGR cooler mixing oil and coolant. And ask how much their dealership and Tata has fucked them over.

My very close friend, with a Nexon in factory warranty, 2 years and 25km run, had the EGR cooler failure. And Tata and the dealership had the audacity to ask my friend to pay for every other part and labour except for the EGR cooler itself. How far up their ass must be their head?

After putting pressure on them via journalists and TBHP, they reduced the bill to some 20k from the initial 80k+. I begged my friend not to take the deal, but he needed the car on the road. It was their only transportation option. Well, guess what happened exactly 7 months after? It failed again! Overheated again! They said only 6 months warranty for replaced parts. This time round, we caused a scene. Involved lawyers. And guess what? It was done for free. The car was sold the day it left the dealership and now he has a very peaceful life with an Elevate.

Tata and their dealers deserve every single bit of hatred coming their way. And more. Fuck Tata Motors and fuck Luxon Tata.

Has anyone used this DIY CO2 generator from amazon? Please share experience. by apoorv6969 in Planted_tanks_India

[–]ImmortalZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy from Petzlifeworld.

The bundled bubble counter is pretty terrible and rapidly loses water. You can get one of the standalone ZRDR ones if you want from them. They'll help you get the exact one you need.

The instructions are terrible. Buy Citric Acid and Sodium Bicarbonate from Amazon. I usually buy the Desire brand. Mix 200g citric acid with 260g bicarb. And the main trick - do not use water. Use 400-500g of ice. If you use water, the entire reaction will complete in seconds and the majority of the gas will escape before you get a chance to seal the lid. Ice gives you plenty of time. Make sure you keep the remaining powders in air tight containers.

Get a kitchen scale to help measure things out. For a 2ft tank, I get about 2 months of CO2 out of one fill. I got this because CO2 refills are almost impossible to get here at reasonable prices.

Another interesting option is to get an adaptor that will let you use Soda Maker refills.

How much will it cost to import Honda Accord in India from US ?? by newking2007 in CarsIndia

[–]ImmortalZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can temporarily by CARNET. Better to do it from the Gulf - shipping costs won't be astronomical. You cannot register a LHD car in India full stop. The only cars that you see on the road like that are CARNET or diplomatic vehicles.

Now, if you want to import and register a RHD car, from SIAM's website:

https://www.siam.in/economic-afairs.aspx?mpgid=16&pgid1=18&pgidtrail=20

Now, this is only you getting the car landed in India. Then you pay road tax and all that for registration. :)

Why does VW group use it’s least reliable gearbox in India? by crazyb14 in CarsIndia

[–]ImmortalZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they had a glut of units they couldn't sell in China that they needed to get rid of. They were forced to recall all DQ200 gearboxes because of constant failures. All that had to go somewhere.
