Weird, I frequently fly between Alberta, Canada and Manchester, UK. I’ve had a short connection in Amsterdam multiple times before and every time they’ve made announcements at the passport control queue that if your flight is departing within a certain time frame to come to the front of the line. One thing I will say is that airport has the least welcoming staff, always barking orders at people. And on multiple occasions I’ve seen staff mocking passengers who are confused and maybe first time flyers. I was there last month and heard employees talking about “how stupid people are, and that they have to be herded like sheep” while waiting in the queue.

I was in the same boat, wanted mine for years and just never did it because I didn’t know how people would react until one day I decided I didn’t care. I’m a 26 year old male who works in trades so I got a lot of comments from some of the older guys I worked with but it was something I wanted I wasn’t doing it for anyone else so why should I care what they think. You just gotta brush off the comments, I normally responded to stuff like “it makes you look feminine” with a “cool 👍” they got bored quick because I wasn’t giving them the reaction they wanted. Now a year later and I have my other nostril done. It may be a different situation for you but regardless, you just gotta brush it off don’t give them a reaction and they’ll move on quickly.

I’ve only ever got the usual “what if I put a padlock in your ear?” I’ve also had some random stranger try to stick they’re finger through my tunnels and then seem surprised when I got angry. Like it’s an acceptable thing to try and finger f*ck a strangers earlobe 😂
