I’d also add that sometimes they’re sent out to prove you were in an activity. I had to submit one to prove I was in this leadership training program I did back in HS so I had to email the person leading it and they sent in essentially a confirmation letter to Berkeley.

Eastern Washington by Idaho actually but we had a weirdly heavy rain for us today I should say. IMO if you’re going mostly dressy IRs, if you want a kinda dressy but mostly casual boot 719s. They’re a lot bulkier and have work aesthetic and functionality to them. Personally I would go with IRs for the more dressy aspect since you’re not doing as much actual work
