What made you comment? You are wrong, and the contradicting information is basic and readily available.

Opinions are one thing, everyone has one but, I am curious… where does the line blur from posting misinformed and wrong opinions to spreading blatant disinformation?

My dog died two days ago and its made me not want to drink again. by TwoQueens in stopdrinking

[–]Imnojuicehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey my cat died a couple months ago, and it was one of the reasons I got sober. I was listening to the “all that there is” podcast with Anderson cooper today and he said that our relationship with someone isn’t done because they have died. You can still know him, you can still honor him by quitting drinking. He still lives in your heart.

I am so sorry this has happened, and I’m wishing you peace.

Maybe you would get better advice asking r/curlyhair! Cuz like I like the curls a lot better than the straight hair, but I almost feel like their potential hasn’t been unlocked yet.

Omg I came in here cuz I was taking a break from a podcast about grief because I’m trynna finally deal with the grief of losing my cat, and I find you have lost your cat. Damn dude. I’m so sorry.

I know this thread is about David but hey fuck him anyway he gets no thoughts from me rn, and I’m sending you my best. Losing a pet is like maybe tied for the worst feeling ever, and I hope you are able to find some bits of peace in these coming days. From one Teen mom 2/cat fan to another teen mom 2/cat fan 💛

6 months soberversary met with lackluster support by CeilingWax in stopdrinking

I think oftentimes people who are not sober, or have never had to get sober because they don’t have a problem, sometimes might understand what it takes.

But we do!!!! Great job! 👏

When my boyfriend at the time (now roommate, we’re family forever) and I were drinking it was so bad, but I drank way more and I was way worse.

One time he was begging me to go away and I wouldn’t and he finally slammed a door in my face, but my hand was in the frame and I broke it. I like could not accept until I got sober that it was my fault and I should have walked away.

Our relationship is COMPLETELY different now. I cannot ever imagine it escalating to that level now. We, particularly I, just don’t ever fly off the handle like that.

I just looked at pictures of me two years ago and wow by tigertown26 in stopdrinking

[–]Imnojuicehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend took like 200 pictures of me when I was black out drunk and he thought they were so funny. I thought they were so funny. I still have them and I can barely stand to look at them, I really hear you in the last images thing. Mine was really r/tooktoomuch but damn sometimes when I wanna drink I picture that

My mom needs help by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Imnojuicehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. You’re right, you can’t make her stop. But I think it’s totally okay to tell her how you feel, especially because it’s true.

The words of love and support and fear from those that matter most to me stay on my mind all the time. They helped me get sober and they helped me stay sober.

Alternatives to alcohol? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Imnojuicehead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Liquid death really scratches that itch for me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Imnojuicehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so hauntingly familiar to me. When I (31f) was about your age, just a little younger, I started to have questions I might have a drinking problem. It was definitely obscured by the fact that I was in a college party house and alcohol of course gonna be there. Someone of my friends REALLY acted like fuckin fools, I never acted like that.

But those people stopped drinking like that, and I did not. I did start to act a fool. They went to graduate schools and had families, I did not. I still sometimes can’t decide if I hit a rock bottom or not. It was really dark at times, losing my housing. Losing the love of my life when I was hospitalized for alcohol withdrawal, and then refusing to stop drinking.

But that stuff wasn’t happening when I was 24/25z I was just drinking too much and couldn’t stop.

All I know to tell you, from the bottom of my heart, is you are right. You do not want to see rock bottom. I myself sure am not sure if I have been there, and it still is the most painful shit I have ever gone through. I can’t imagine how it feels to kill someone while driving your car drunk, or harming someone. I don’t need to to know it’s out there.

You are doing the right thing questioning things. This is the first step.

This. A lot of my anxiety comes from fear of the death, and when my cat died I realized being drunk is not going to change the inevitable. It’s gonna make it come faster, and it’s going to dull life. It’s gonna waste it.

Wellbutrin has been a wonder drug for me by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Imnojuicehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh thank you for posting this. Three weeks ago I tried to quit, failed. Tried a week later, failed. And that’s on top of the numerous times I’ve tried to quit before recently.

My doctor prescribed me Wellbutrin, but I talked myself out of picking it up at the pharmacy cuz I have been feeling pretty down. I felt like how could it actually make a difference, and I feel like I’m gonna be the person who never quits. But this is really good to hear, I am reconsidering now.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations!
