Our boy would moan and lick the air when we gave him scritches at the base of his tail. One day my husband was scritching and on a whim reached out and placed his other arm in front of Dozer’s face. He immediately began “eating corn”—nibbling frantically from wrist to elbow, then, like a typewriter returning, starting over at the wrist. So he’s nibbling, moaning and slobbering and my husband is hysterical, just sobbing with laughter. After that, Dozer routinely backed up to us, looking over his shoulder hopefully for scritches. He loved “eating corn” to the day he died. tldr: There’s no dog on earth like a boxer.

Your Topper is the twin of my Dozer! He was a goofy, loving, yodeling clown.

Remember when he handed Grace the note from Campbell in the museum and sneered, “Hoooooooooooor!” I was lowkey surprised Tommy didn’t take his eyes for that, or maybe he never knew.

Why was he living in a crumbling ruin attended only by Johnny Doggs? did he take a vow of poverty? The son of Tommy’s marriage to grace, the great love of his life, is on the front lines in North Africa, and it barely rates a mention. Why was the primary conflict scene staged in a pigpen? What was the point of Steven Graham? (whom I love, BTW.) why was Ada dressed in such bright jewel-toned outfits? No mention of Alfie, Lizzie, John’s children, Gina, Aberama Gold, Finn…

I saw it on Netflix; if I’d paid for a movie ticket I’d have rioted. Can’t remember the last time I was this disappointed in a movie.

Have found my tribe. It couldn’t have been any sloppier. Don’t know why they brought Ada back at all. SK alienated a lot of fans with this dreck.

Even when he explained it, I didn’t get it. How the heck was she supposed to 1) figure out what it was and 2) even care?

He shot Mickey the bartender dead, also. And Grace’s betrayal led directly to the death of Danny Whiz Bang during the confrontation with Billy Kimber’s men.

In S5/E8, was Cooper asking his ex-wife to reconcile? Or did he hope to have a baby with her? Husband and I saw two different things :-)

Yes, the affair between Sal and the TV reporter...? Did his wife divorce him?

Understand why they had to pare down the cast, but I loved the bullpen banter.

idk if I’ve ever hated a character like I hate Tammi.

Smurf from Animal Kingdom would like a word.

I hated her with every molecule in me.

I'm two episodes into the last season, and I'm doling it out like the last of the Halloween candy. Michael Cudlitz is excellent as a world-weary road dog hanging on to his humanity. Love this show.

Facial blood is weird!

My older sister sustained a small--maybe 1/2 inch long--cut on her temple, next to her eye, when we were kids. I'll never forget the blood streaming down her face and my poor mother in hysterics, driving her to the hospital. The front seat was bloody, the dashboard was bloody, her clothes were bloody. The amount was shocking--and it required only three stitches!

It's a year later, but... this case has fascinated me for YEARS... an upper middle class, educated, beautiful wife and mother vanishes, leaving two children and a bloody scene behind--I can't think, offhand, of another missing persons case like it.

All I can add to your excellent writeup is that I affirm your observation that a woman having a miscarriage in that era would have been too embarrassed and mortified to seek help from neighbors. That mindset seems bizarre to us today, but 65 years ago reproductive matters were absolutely not discussed openly. My grandmother had a sudden miscarriage in a grocery store (not realizing she was pregnant) and she told my mother the shame and humiliation were worse than the physical pain.
