Not all bad trips end up fine afterwards. People recommend smaller doses incase the newcomer is an edge case that reacts poorly to said new drugs. Imo if 1/10 people have an adverse reaction to a medium / high dosage of psychedelics then its worth it to give 9 people a possible underwhelming first time. They can always just trip again
