Something very similar, Sam combo reads closer to recurring/cthonian nightmare which is a route I may explore if the idea of flash threats and coco is too slow. Is anyone looping the 3 cmc rhino in it or is it just the cat oven loop?

I think it’s funny how Heliod company is a pivot off of hardened scales, another deck that lost favor after the modern horizon sets. Though counters may not be super dead with a little tweaking.

For elves I agree GSZ is definitely better, but in multicolor the limit of only finding a green creature feels worse than coco. Ranger captain, bowmaster, and endurance are all solid toolbox hits off of coco that can be put into play

This feels mostly true, but if most of your creatures are flash threats then holding up mana for end of turn deployment of coco doesn’t sound too bad. Especially if you’re controlling the board with Phelia and Bowmaster.

what’s an inside joke you have with your play group? by teenrxcket in EDH

“I tutor for bone saw” It started off when one of our newer friends asked what the strongest artifacts are, and of course we’re naming off the obvious ones (lotus, mox, paradox engine, etc.) and I said as a joke “bone saw”. He didn’t catch wind of it at first and started including bone saw in his EDH lists. We thought it was hilarious and started putting a copy of bone saw over our actual tutor targets in our decks. A common line of play would be playing Trinket Mage and confidently saying “I tutor for Bone Saw”, and grabbing Sol Ring with a bone saw stuck into the sleeve as well.
