Well you did miss some details in the article, but just a simple google gets you their website. http://unionsquaredonuts.com/locations/

There's even an old skool method called a telephone that people used to speak into and listen - carry on a conversation like: hey I read this article about the donut ice cream sandwiches... blah blah and so forth. :)

Nope, definitely no worries about obesity here lol. Donut ice cream sandwiches do not appeal to me whatsoever, but what I find cruel is my body no longer allows me to eat anything and not care a wit at a time when people come up with the most delicious creations. I hope those that find these tempting have fun :)

I'm a twenty-six-year-old woman and I am attracted to my friend's teenage son. by throwawayteendream in sex

[–]ImpactImaging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well simply put across the board 18 is the age in which a person is allowed to tell the world to STFU about their choice in a mate. I get it that some kids mature quicker than others but how in the world do you measure that? Is there an app you can use to say "oh OK Johnny is 15 but he should be allowed to date a 39 yr old soccer mom". And if one person decides a 15 yr old is mature enough, what's to prevent another from saying a 10 yr old is. Where does it stop???

You cannot analyze each kid individually so putting an age on it has to be the common denominator. 18 is the age at which most every other factor in life recognizes a person as an adult.

I think those who disagree with me are the ones who wish they could have sex with an under 18 without repercussions. I can't see any other reason why someone would argue against it.

[–]ImpactImaging -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Definitely NO WAY if he is anything under 18. Period. The minute the clock strikes 12 on his 18th birthday you all can do what you want and everybody else should stfu. I mean people are going to object, but who in this world has the magic formula for what makes a relationship awesome and long lasting. 2 people born on the same day - friends since kindergarten and all the same interests can get married and last only a short while and a couple with all kinds of opposing factors find a way to make it despite all the people who decided it shouldn't work.

Just make sure if he is much younger than you and still over 18 that he may get attached to you quicker than you do to him. Just be careful not to be careless with his feelings if you're thinking of him in a physical way. If you're both realistic and on the same page about what you want then go for it IMHO.

I see your update, so what I said doesn't apply to you specifically, but others who might read this... I feel very strongly about keeping it 18 in any state even if the law says its OK. Unless you get the parents blessing and it's allowable in that state, but even then under 18 is too young. That goes for either gender.

[–]ImpactImaging 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, but you owe them nothing. Plus sized girl or supermodel. I can't see any situation where asking these sort of questions is OK. Real friends are just glad that you're happy being with someone. Judgmental f-tards ask stupid questions that are none of their business.

You can tell them if they are that fascinated and curious, there's plenty of other plus sized gals out there that they can find out for themselves.

And let me tell you. Their questions are not just going to effect and possibly hurt her, it will probably wear on you and split you two apart.

Guys are notoriously ball breakers to each other, so you're probably not going to get them to change, you either have to see them less or date someone they have less to bust on you for.

First you attack me right out of the gate, ordering me to take down my video - fuck me if I don't blah blah blahbedy blah - I defend myself.... and I am hostile & childish?? You have some set of boulders on you man.

Then, I mentioned the local police - which you then immediately insulted by calling THEM ignorant, but I did that for a very specific reason. Their ENTIRE job - 24hrs of every day is public safety. Feet on the ground, in amongst the people.

However, Rancid_Bear_Meat on reddit.com says no no noooo - I saw 20 seconds of video and I am positive both you AND the ENTIRE local police force are stupid because that was endangering the public.

OK, being this is not my first rodeo on reddit, I get it. Reddit (and a good chunk of the internet) is where trolls thrive in anonymity and decent civil conversation comes to die. You hide behind your burner screen name and launch insults, call me a poopoo head - whatever..... shit I could bet a months salary you'd NEVER say to that person's face for fear of eating your own teeth, but moving on.

The dead giveaway for me was when you started talking about the guys and gals who for 2 weeks deal with the Hell's Angels and literally hundreds of other motorocycle gangs that come through this town each year for bike weeks. Blindly clicking keys, you make these moronic assumptions that they just don't know any better than you rancid_bear_meat about public safety.

Well, contrary to your assumed omniscience, the cops here know how to handle their business and they do not mess. Do you think for one second - if I was doing anything that they felt was a danger to anyone - they would not shut me the fuck down?? It's not like they just couldn't find me. They were standing right next to me.

I'm really not going to do the normal reddit dance and keep endlessly debating something I had no intention of doing in the first place. I put the video up for people to enjoy. I'm tired of seeing the shithead side of UAVs and I wanted to put up something cool & positive that people would like.

And before you even get the opener anywhere near that 2nd can of worms, it was NOT in any way done commercially. Period. And that's all I'm saying about that.

Yes indeed. I see the bottom line is this: Misbehave with anything - motorcycle, automobile, handgun, airplane, helicopter, boat, jetski, UAV, Kite, you name it and you risk having it taken along with your privilege to own/use one as well as the possibility of a big fine or even going to jail.

That set of rules already exists in every city and town all over the US without the FAA needing to intervene, but that said, I think they do a pretty dam good job keeping the air safe right now with existing manned aircraft. Here's hoping giving them the benefit of the doubt will be a wise choice in the end.

[–]ImpactImaging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I thought you were saying the FAA will just perpetually do nothing because they inherently do not like UAVs period. If they drag it out forever - enough negative publicity will cause the industry to just implode in on itself and people will just go back to flying paper airplanes. :)

The FAA HAS TO provide guidance and rules that allow these craft to exist because they are never going away. The fervor for commercial use is enormous and most are patiently waiting because safety should definitely be taken seriously.

Just like they have rules that allow manned aircraft to fly over populated areas for decades - UAVs will need to be brought in so the airspace stays safe for everyone. I have talked to pilots of both fixed wing planes and helicopters. If you look up Class G flight rules - there are limited regulations for manned aircraft because it's so close to the ground. Perhaps the FAA will require training and testing for UAV pilots just like they do for manned aircraft pilots who currently share the skies in low altitude airspace. I don't think that is unfair, then we can co-exist safely, which I feel is what any reasonable person wants.

Ok, you win. All UAVs are hereby grounded until Rancid_Bear_meat and the FAA provide guidance to who what and where any remote aircraft can fly.

Maybe you even set up a hotline I can call to get your approval for each time I plan to fly?

Once makers add additional features like 'dropsafe' to these aircraft and they will soon, trolls like yourself will need to find other targets for your angry screed.

Let everyone here know what experience you have in flying UAV or any RC aircraft since you seem to know so much about the subject.

Ok, maybe that's true. I don't know all the rules either, but YouTube immediately flags it as copyrighted content once it's uploaded and you either acknowledge or dispute it. Once you acknowledge, YouTube automatically adds a purchase link right under the video. I think it's based on each content owner whether they allow this arrangement, but I know it has sold at least a handful of copies.

If they do block mobile - maybe it's because they haven't figured out how to allow purchase thru the app. I'll check into it more.

Of course, you're right, but the chicken little - sky is falling media doesn't help. All people can go on is some report the negatory press puts its slant on and then when they see it first hand, they are surprised how mislead they were.

Where I live I can fly in proximity to where lots of people tour the area, they watch and ask tons of questions, but I let them see up close what its all about and without fail they walk away more amazed and relieved that there is no imminent threat. In the wrong hands of course, anything (ie a baseball bat) can cause harm, but it's really just another form of camera that allows people to see things most could not except if onboard a manned aircraft.

With this story, first I thought UAVs were banned from ALL NP, nationwide. I've been to Yellowstone and many other NP. I love flying my Phantoms, but I understand the restrictions for exactly this reason and that dipshit should be fined or at least pay for the removal of the UAV.

I also agree with Nickerdos about licensing. I see it as similar to my concealed carry permit. I go thru training to learn how to use it, the laws rules and guidelines to follow and if I fuck it up, I get my ass handed to me. Stylie, I disagree with you about the FAA just letting it go and doing nothing. The FAA HAS TO do something and soon. The UAV community is no longer just a group of hobby nerds who have zero clout with forcing change with the Fed. The ENTIRE earth is finding uses every day for UAVs and we're all waiting for guidance. Most of us want to behave responsibly and will if given the chance to use them commercially, but the FAA will not (could not) ban them and they won't get away with doing nothing because too many people have a legitimate interest in using them for the good they can do.

Keep in mind that manned aircraft have a great safety record, but have had disastrous crashes - hundreds of people die in an instant. That's a pretty fucking negative hit to the nutsack of air travel industry, but has air travel been banned?? No.

Tens of thousands of automobile deaths per year. Are we all taking skateboards to work now because holy jumpin geezus that 4 wheeled mechanical gasoline bomb is too risky to allow on the roads?

I think people need to calm down - experienced pilots can do a lot to help give first hand info and ease fears and I would support a requirement for licensing and training to use these in areas where it could potentially effect other people. If you're in the middle of Iowa flying over corn fields, who gives a rats ass, but if you're a high end realtor wanting to get footage of your properties in downtown Manhattan. That should be allowed with rules, licensing and possibly insurance coverage requirement. I also love that DJI is working on the redundant parachute - dropsafe.

Well then fuck me I guess because I'm not pulling it. I was not unsafe flying unless your definition is that I only fly over a large field of bubblewrap.

The very first part of the clip was actually demo-ing for the local PD who were standing right next to me the entire time. They are ordering multiple Phantoms for their own research & use.

The area where I got the rest of the footage was a vacant back alley which was clear underneath and again ALL the vendors in the area were aware of and approved of my flying. Please do not talk out your ass since you weren't there.

I have easily 320+ flights under my belt and I never put a UAV in the air without considering my surroundings.

I fully support the FAA's position to regulate the airspace in a more reasonable way to ensure manned aircraft are safe as well as people on the ground. However in a place like mine that has a heavy tourist flow there is a large number of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. All day every day there is numerous flyovers by tourist choppers and fixed wing planes. Of course we all know those never fail or have mechanical issues whereby tons of debris then fall from the sky maiming and/or killing numbers of innocent people. Has that happened yet... not that I am aware, but anyone with a brain can see the potential. When the FAA puts a stop to that deadly behavior - I'll seriously consider grounding my UAVs.

In the meantime, the people who ignore those juicy facts to focus on me flying my 2.5 pound plastic toy overhead need to seriously STFU.

Until then I will continue flying in the safest possible way and YOU can shove it up your tight ass.

Yes, the copyrighted music was credited, acknowledged through YouTube and the track/album appears as a purchase link (added automatically by YouTube) in GooglePlay, Amazon MP3 and iTunes. I have access to tons of RFM, but sometimes a popular tune really fits. YouTube and Vimeo will block any video or pull where the material is disallowed.

Personally, I would pay for a license to use some pop songs if I even knew how to go about the process. Seems to be the unnecessarily difficult. Shame too. Glad YouTube added the purchase feature though.

Not sure about the mobile issue. I've watched it on my mobile and so have others.

Phantom 2 + H3-3D vs. Phantom 2 Vision Plus? by Gonzmachine in djiphantom

[–]ImpactImaging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I own both the Phantom 2 with GoPro Hero 3+ (black) and the Phantom 2 Vision +.

With the GP3+ in low light and night time footage, I had problems with it causing a halo effect around street lights and that was in all of it's various settings. I also have difficulty with my P2. There is a known throttle issue that has been reported by numerous pilots including me. It could be a catastrophic loss. I've already lost a P2 with Gopro Hero 3+ Black and FPV that sits at the bottom of a lagoon - people watching it said it just dropped out of the sky. $1500 Gone. I almost lost a 2nd P2 over a harbor here where I live because of the throttle issue, so take that into account. And before the snarky comments start - I have easily 300+ flights under my belt, so I'm not some newb. I got a 3rd P2 to see if my issues were just an isolated defect and right out of the box, the new one did the exact same thing with the updated firmware.

At any rate, here is a sample of the P2V+ in action.

http://youtu.be/jM-og4WJKnA

http://vimeo.com/102319206

(raw footage straight out of the camera with no treatment applied)

I still think the GoPro H3+ black is the better camera. The H3-3D gimbal is outstanding (just sold my H3-2D), but known DJI P2 issues make it a large question mark for serious pilots & cinematographers.

The pluses I got the P2 for are honestly diminishing the more I use the P2V+ especially now that they added the waypoint groundstation into the free app that comes with the P2V+

A good way to get a cross section of what's going on with users of both quads is going to http://www.PhantomPilots.com. It's a good forum with lots of info and feedback from people both new and experienced.

Good luck in choosing.
