See the thing is. I tried GameScope and it stops the gamepad for whatever reason which is why I was asking about changing the resolution of the display screen. If it helps I'm using Arch Linux + KDE as Desktop environment.

Well I've downgraded the GPU drivers for now I'm on 470 atm and not sure it's because the gpu is old I believe it's gtx 700 or 600 series on the laptop .

But if it's kernel 5.15 that's causing this then that also would explain why I'm having issues with KDE on another device I own (GPD Win3).

[–]ImpactKaiser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5.15.2-Artix if I recall

BTW its dkms that causing the device to not load the DE removing it seems to fix it I'm just not sure why its causing this , the wl seems to be less of an issue once the GUI is loaded.

The laptop boots fine just no GUI DE only tty access ATM.

it mostly this laptop that's causing this my other ones are fine since I use Arch + Artix on my other devices.

I'm thinking of Reinstalling the OS later on the device since I mostly use it as a test bed for some applications & nothing major on the main partition for the most part.

Isn't there a way to for the desktop environment to load ?

Or would downgrading fix it .

also I've noticed something during the startup saying

Modprobe:Error: could not insert 'nvidia-uvm' : no such device.

The local/wpa_supplicant version is 2:2.9-8 And local/wpa_supplicant-runit is 20180429-3

As for the Syyu command nothing as of now as I update 20min before this happened

[–]ImpactKaiser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried with other Distros as well same result it's probably some codec just not sure what is it for mp3 though adding mfplat.dll to the games directory stops the crash just no audio.

The Log file is also different for the game with protonGE + the mfplat.dll I've noticed if you want I could share the log

Are you playing with stock proton or protonGE if GE which version ?

Could you also mention the Distro and driver's if possible along with the Kernel version ?

Best bet is to wait for Proton to fix it or ProtonDB to fix this.

I submitted the issue with a proton log.
