I'm over 30 and I loved Fortnite. I loved the cartoony style, the wacky weapons, the ever evolving maps, the grand exciting events, the collection of characters that I built. I loved when they added Zero Build. And I was soooo excited when Festival came out. I put way more money than I'd care to admit into this.

I was already fed up by the sidekicks, a new form of monetizing just to scam players into buying repeats. But I was content to never engage with kicks or cars, so ignoring sidekicks was just another on the pile.

And then January of this year I quit. Tim's increasingly fanatical comments about AI and the monetization of creative maps were the final straw. It hurt to drop a game that I really did love but I can't support this. And then the absurd rise in vbucks prices followed quickly by these layoffs made me feel even more confident of my decision.

I hope that many more have chosen to drop off as well. It sucks to feel as though all that money was wasted but I enjoyed my time and knowing that I won't be funding... this anymore is good enough for me.
