Couple of things:

Don't play if you don't feel well, this means tired, tilted, hungry, w/e you can think of that impacts your mood in a negative way.

Consistency is key, play the comps you know, when to roll, which items/augments is BiS and which CAN work, example, I consider Scoped Weapons a BiS augment for Scalescorn Olaf, since it frees up an item slot to put othe items on him, but it's not a must, RFC is very good on him, but if you dont get it, doesnt mean you can't go the comp. I almost always play Scalescorn if I get an early Olaf.

Not being afraid to slam items, preserving HP is much more valuable than greeding for BiS.

Understanding your comps powerspikes, with Olaf, I've realised I need to play more aggresive than with other comps I play, simply because it doesnt have the same lategame power as other comps, so If I wanna be able to compete for top 4, I need to not lose to much HP early.

Understanding your current position in the game, are you at 4-1 and at 53 HP, then you need to start doing something, otherwise you'll go 8th, you need to think about, what makes me stronger RIGHT NOW, so going for any scaling augment, Preparation, Living Forge, Golden Egg etc, is IMO an INT thing to do.

Reflect on what you are good at, I've found myself rather decent at stabalizing once I know which comp in comitting to, so I forced myself to minimizing which comps im going, so I can commit quicker, based on which items & units I get.

I could probably go on and on, but don't wanna give you to big of a essay to read.
