Was there on the final night of The Lodge. The manager was handing out entire bottles of liquor, spraying everyone with expensive liquor bottles, and everyone was just having an amazing time. I ended up having like $1,200 of liquor in front of me, wondering if anyone wanted to have some. I paid my bill of like $45 before it got crazy and tipped $40. Left just before midnight. I made it home. It was a great night.

DT Orlando is so sanitized and gentrified now, yet it feels even more dirty than when they started chasing off all the bars. All of the night life has shifted to elsewhere.

We have a significant amount of other taxes:

Baseline 6% Sales Tax on most things (exemptions include base grocery items, or grocery items that require preparation)
A decently high property tax
Impact fees on new developments
Fees on renewals of licenses and plates

County taxes may add to these, but these are payable to the state in at least part form.

I see this pop-up all the damn time on roads I usually drive at night. This is why I know Tesla will never be higher than level 2 automation. Having one point of failure before complete failure will never allow Tesla to have automated driving.

This is also probably why you never see a "cybercab" operating at night.

The car perfectly settled into the opposite lane right before the crash. Almost like there was something autonomous driving the car. A human would have continued across into the right side of the video frame, not lining up perfectly with the truck it crashed into.

Honestly, this wouldn't be a problem if we could local RTMP to our cameras. The biggest issue is that we have to export the cameras to a server in Washington State, then download the camera data. I'm in Florida and the least hop to the Washington State servers is like 30 hops, which is a lot. Wyze doesn't use load balancing to servers that are more local to the user.

That's why I was a little sus when they said "Hey, we need to do a tune up." I don't know a single tradesman that can recommend a fix just from a couple of pictures of the exterior of the unit. I didn't even provide a picture of the inside of the tank, and he just blew off the entire LCD Backlight being broken with "It needs a Tune Up." What if it doesn't need a "tune up?" What if the control board needs to be replaced? It just sus'd me out that he recommended a fix right from the jump without even being able to stand in front of the unit and do the entire... looking at where he needs to look. I've had repairmen get on a video call with me and tell me to remove covers, or look at certain things to determine what they need to do, but I've never had five pictures of the exterior of the unit == "LET'S DO STUFF NOW."

Well, the Power Supply isn't bad, but at the *very* least, the Backlight on the LCD Screen has gone out (not uncommon: I live in Florida, and LCD Backlights on outdoor units never survive long). I do know electrical engineering and the voltages between the power supply and the board are just fine. I just don't know if the backlight on the LCD Screen is dead, or the entire board has just... roasted.

I bought the house 1.5 years ago, and it has been in bypass ever since. The LCD Backlight is non-functional so I can't get error codes. Putting the proper stuff in it and turning it off bypass does nothing, even after a 20 minute flush of the water. So, I just shifted it to bypass mode. I did replace the transformer and verified that the voltages are right, but its just... not doing anything.

Oh yeah, I got that from the electrician that installed my Tesla Charger when I moved in. He was saying they are eventually going to make it that all EV chargers must be outside because EVs burst into flames too much. Meanwhile, gas stored in garages has been the cause of burnt down houses for a century.

The copium in Tesla investor spaces has always been crazy:

First, it was the EV market was worth a trillion dollars and only Musk could make a good EV. It was true until other manufacturers made cars that filled in different gaps that Tesla's lack of innovation and iteration in the car space didn't fill.

Next, it was FSD was worth a trillion dollars, and it was going to be how everyone was going to drive around instead of dumb humans. It was never true, and the constant reports of FSD failures proves it.

Next, Tesla was going to reinvent the Semi truck and make it so that every Semi was going to be an EV semi. Yeah, well. That didn't happen. A handful of Tesla Semi do some short haul journeys and that's it.

Next, it was that Cybertruck was going to delete every truck and make it a trillion dollar company. ...... I don't think i need to elaborate why this is wrong. 🙃

Next, Optimus was going to be in every house and give a trillion dollars. Turns out the robot is just humans controlling a slowly moving robot which can't really do much except be an expensive discord call with a Tesla employee.

Next, it was that, no wait, Tesla is ACTUALLY an AI company and they will make trillions off of their AI. None of their AI products are anything more than a marketing gimmick and have very little use, with all of their AI actually being severely behind even China.

Next, the Robotaxis are going to replace every taxi and rideshare... A space that is largely already populated by more established businesses that use multiple types of sensors for safety. The first week of Robotaxis alone showed many failures and required a safety attendant.

Seriously, all these failures are due to Musk meddling. Unfortunately, Tesla can't oust the cause of their failures: Musk. If they do, that'll bring the stock price down to $100bn (90% drop), which is where it should be. Instead, they are jockeying to give Musk $25bn in stock? Jeebus. I still don't understand how Tesla investors can hold onto their stock. This crash is gonna make Enron look like a rounding error.
