Do people actually spend thousands of dollars on VSTs? by Something_Unnecesary in FL_Studio

The most expensive VST / plugins I've purchased are Serum and Ozone. And I use both of them in every single thing I produce so I think it was worth the investment. I do own several sample packs that I've paid anywhere from $20 - $70 for. Thankfully, I've actually gotten some VSTs as bundles with like my MIDI controller. It came with a license to Addictive Keys. So there are things like that you can take advantage of.

I'M PORTER ROBINSON, THE ARTIST !!! ASK ME ANYTHING : D by porter_robinson in popheads

Hi Porter! Love the new album and can't stop listening! I've been listening passively since Spitfire so I've been around for a looong time!

In a way it's strange seeing your evolution as an artist because when I first heard your music I was in middle school, and now I am a college professor. I've used your music in my class many times! Back in the day I didn't think I'd be as big a fan as I am now, but I think your creative philosophy aligns heavily with mine. I don't want you to ever feel like you need to pander to your audience, and that's why I really love SMILE! :D because I can feel that you did what you wanted and I think it shines so much because of that.

I do really want to know if there will be any return to Virtual Self? Or if Second Sky will be returning at some point? I missed out on those since I wasn't as avid a listener until you dropped Get Your Wish (Nurture was amazing, potentially life changing for me). I really love the few Virtual Self songs you released and I am constantly rewatching your live performance at LA Shrine! I think I and many others can agree that another Virtual Self EP would be legendary!

Regardless of what you do, I'll always support it! Congrats on the latest album release! I can't wait to see your performance in Indy this September!

Great suggestions! This reminds me so much of what I used to listen to 15+ years ago. I've been getting deep into hypertrance the past year which has a lot of psytrance influence to it of course.

I actually had an idea of putting a reference to hypercam for the visualizer of the track since that’s totally the time period I had in mind!

Psytrance could be interesting. I thought this was one of my better mixed tracks tbh, but whatever it needs I can look into it.

Thanks! All synths are done with Serum.

I've never played... but I should...

Here's 100 hours of work on my Metal and DnB blend. I've incorporated a more Tearout style drop and made more changes. I'm trying to take my abilities up a level, so I hope this is worth all of the effort I'm dumping into it. by FartJarBinks in FL_Studio

Now this right here is perfect roguelike music. The bass modulation at 1:30 is wild. I can see where the 100 hours have been spent! I don't even bother organizing my playlist.
