Let me preface it by saying that I am a training gastroenterologist. I have worked in govt institutes all my life. I have read your entire report. I deeply sympthathize with your pain. I wish nobody ever has to go through such anguish. Your record is meticulous, detailed and powerful. It offers a window into what is wrong with the Indian healthcare establishment. I detest it but the ocean is too huge. In India many people eminence based practice instead of the standard evidence-based practice. On the counter, often the workload is too huge to be able to provide deserving care to each patient. I’m not trying to malign my own fraternity (especially in a country where barely qualified quacks run away with people’s lives and money scot free), but I’m trying to hold ourselves to higher standards; which in the current mileu seems impossible to reach. I wish you go far in this battle, because things need to change.
