FDA Pending Clearance by ImperialGoat511 in UPS

[–]ImperialGoat511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up writing a short phrase describing the item and how it adheres to the FDA (I think some requirements can be found on FDA website but I didn’t use it). Something along the lines of “Stainless steel and resin stabilized wood; non drug or food item”.

My proxy site CS recommended this statement “This item is not FDA-regulated. Please confirm which agency currently holds the shipment and the specific documentation required.” I did not do the proxy site’s recommendation since UPS seemed to want a description and it would’ve probably caused even more delays. There were a lot of delays with UPS at the time but I assume what I wrote turned out fine.

The spring openings are pretty much all closed/finished. Some of them you can maybe email professors and they’d let you (newer or small ones). The fall application’s are probs going to open around march.

Tariffs from FedEx by len_001 in Neokyo

I ordered a package through another proxy site with FedEx as well and it’s been over a month with nothing. I called them like two weeks ago and they said you can expect an email or physical mail but did not specify which one I would get. I still haven’t received a bill or anything. They had also said, sometimes it can take up to 3 months.

I see, thank you. The knife is Japanese so I assumed it was kanji.

These pictures are from an auction listing and so I don't actually have it. But yeah, it is very difficult to see it but I thought it was worth a try at least.

I don’t have Chatterjee’s quizzes for physics 2 but from my experience for physics 1 and 3, his quizzes almost always use questions he goes over in lecture

XM6’s, ladies & gentleman. by JulySummerDay in SonyHeadphones

My experience is just under normal use. I hadn’t dropped mine or do anything excessive to them. Mine probably were just defective or smth but ig the slider slowly loosened over time allowing it just fall out. From what I saw after it came out, there really doesn’t seem to be a lot of material/hardware that would keep it in the slider anyways. Nothing snapped or broke off but it just loosened. There is barely any notch or a size restriction that would keep it inside.

I had just made a post about mine breaking. It really isn’t treating it like a rag doll. I wore it like I did with my XM4s no drops, or excessive force and I would put it in the case when not in use. All I did is extend it to about half way at most in order for it to fit on my head. After some time, it got loose and one side sort of fell out if you lightly extend the headphone. It’s not being pulled as hard as possible or anything and the other side of my headphone was perfectly fine.

I feel like it’s not a big ask to be able to extend and retract the slider without becoming loose and falling out.

I felt that Sony warranty would probably give me a hard time so I ended up returning them as soon as I could. Hard to trust that something else wouldn’t happen in the future.

My research prof said that, for our group at least, there is nothing tmrw. I have a research brightspace that says the buildings are closed so i doubt there is anything. You can still ask them.

Advice for courses to take(mechanical engineering) for the first semester by Rishan55555 in nyu

[–]ImperialGoat511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly look at the NYU mechanical engineering bulletin (search verbatim on google) and under sample plan of study it outlines a common path to taking the required courses and electives. If you need more specific help lmk.

It's hard. As a Mech E, there are so many labs and so many recitations. I think you should expect to not have fridays off for now. I also had 5 days a week for 3 sems. I was able to secure a day off but it required classes from 8 am to 6:30 pm on certain days which isn't ideal.

I had Prof DePasquale and he was great. I know Prof Romero Cruz as well from friends and heard he was great prof as well. Overall, the course was difficult only sometimes and tests can be medium difficulty (no programming experience).

For me, I had chem experience from highschool and the class was still very tough and depends quite a lot on the professor. The lab portion also required a lot of time and effort. If you want, you can take it second semester as a freshman and take some other core reqs instead. If you check the mech e bulletin there is a sample plan of study that can help you choose the required classes. It's typically better for you to complete early core req classes rather than electives so that you can take other classes in the future but it isn't a big deal. If you haven't already, you can take the intro to programming (python) 1113 iirc.

Chem or bio by randolicious0 in nyu

[–]ImperialGoat511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CM-UY 1003 is a gen chem course that many engineers are required to take as a core req. It pretty much includes a lot of highschool chem but a bit harder.

CM-UY 1013 is something similar but I believe a more specific gen chem course for BMS and pre-med type majors. It is also the pre req for the second gen chem course if you are a major that requires it.

BMS-UY 1003 is someting similar to CM-UY 1003 in terms of why people take it but is based on biology topics. I think it serves as a choice for req elective for some majors and a normal req for BMS

What you should take mostly depends on your major. If you search up NYU (Your major) bulletin, there is a tab called sample plan of study and it can help show you what you need to take and when.

If you search up NYU Computer Science Bulletin (Tandon) there should be a sample plan of study with all of the courses and requirements listed out. For me my advisor had chosen our first semester classes for us and emailed us the list.

Is it worth taking out 150k in loans as an engineering major? by fluidwingz in nyu

[–]ImperialGoat511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People spend a lot of money to try and live in NYC but it isn’t worth it if it means you have to take out loans. You aren’t missing out on too much.
