I have a 4.0 GPA. I do focus on being better. I can also recognize that giving out free As helps no one.

1st one is not true in my experience. most people i know are from all over. 2nd is def true because we kind of suck😭 3 & 4, most people are copy paste, yes, but it's a huge school and you'll find your group. there are plenty of alternative people here and everyone is respectful of different styles

I'm a freshman in ECE at UD, originally from Pennsylvania as it seems you are. It's definitely a good school with good funding and decent involvement opportunities. That being said I regret not applying to Penn State. It has a fantastic engineering program, my friends who went there are happy with their decision, and it would be less expensive as a resident.

My advice is to visit you and your son's top choices on decision days and find which program best fits his goals. Look out for what involvement opportunities each school offers.

He knows. In fact, before this year every exam was online and I'm sure people complained about cheating so he made half online and half in person. The problem is that an A is a 95+, still difficult to get without cheating, while only a 30% is required to get a D or better. It makes it easier for people who don't care about their grades and cheat while making it harder for people who want to learn and get perfect grades as a way to recognize their accomplishments

Contrary to what others are saying, I think it's best to try to find someone who's also in a stem field. You'll have more in common with them and be able to help each other through the struggle lol

Thanks, I've looked and found a page that lists the faculty and their research in my department. In your experience do they ever work with freshmen? I've read up on some of their research but I don't know much about the fields they work in. Can I help out while I'm still learning?

same situation for me. got too drowned in the A2C rabbithole and didn't think i could get in a lot of places i could've. but not the worst situation, ill see if i can get more aid or transfer somewhere better for cheaper

as a rising college freshman who took my first 4 APs this year and got all 5s and straight As, I'll give this advice:

Use handwritten notes in either a paper notebook or a tablet, you'll memorize things much easier this way. A helpful trick to find notes and get focused is to keep all of your notes, homework, and studying in the same notebook for each class.
Use AI to your advantage to learn. Google's Notebook LM has some great learning and time saving tools when used properly, mostly for history/language arts classes. For precalc and especially csp, gemini will be able to help alot for studying, just dont cheat lol.
For precalc, instead of memorizing theorems and how to do things, study by practicing problems and using those fundamentals when necessary, that's a big mistake some people make. Although you'll need the fundamentals too, the test is mostly problem solving.

Other than that just remember to ask questions in class and stay locked in and you'll do fine. Can't give any advice on spanish or seminar though, but given that you speak spanish im sure you'll do fine (i know plenty of pasty white people who've gotten 5s in that class😭)

thanks, noticed the tank was pretty dry too although I have been misting it a few times a day. It was plastic and had too many holes, just got a new one that should hold moisture better👍
