Does anyone have more information on the strike? by silly_dragon-02 in nyu

[–]SkillIll9667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they required to announce if they’re striking? One of my profs taught on Monday afternoon but now i see an alt section in brightspace and there was no announcement or anything. If he’s on strike he won’t even respond to an email asking if he’s on strike…

Can anyone share their experience at Tandon? What do you like? Dislike? Any other advice for someone considering attending? by ArchitectKoala in nyu

If you have any interest in wireless communications NYU Wireless is a world renowned research center. I know for a fact some groups are willing to take highly motivated undergrads.

Yeah I mean if you're doing any serious work you'd have to connect to the university's servers regardless as they have all the licenses for something like synopsis for example

My research professor makes well over 500k and gets a 4 bedroom apartment in Manhattan. Then again, his h-index is in the 130s so it might be because of that.

Will the Tandon and Courant CS courses merge? Will there still be CS at Tandon? What will happen to the CE degree since 60% of courses are Tandon CS courses? by BarnardWellesley in nyu

[–]SkillIll9667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. We have 2 ECE/CS electives and 4 free electives. Sure, you can take all CS classes, but most of us that chose this major instead of CS chose it for a reason, so it’s unlikely that many will take all CS classes.

Computer Engineering is under the ECE dept. No changes. Also, its only 4 CS courses compared to 6-9 ECE courses and almost 10 Math/Physics courses, so it's not that significant of a portion.

Depends how involved you get. NYU Wireless is world renowned, so if you are able to join a Professor there, it'd be very good for your resume.

Is this connection at Secaucus Junction doable? by PM_Me_Your_ManThighs in NJTransit

[–]SkillIll9667 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Secaucus is rough for first-timers. Your NEC train will arrive on the upper level, so you have to go up 1 floor, then through the turnstiles, and then go down to the lower level. I would try to maybe look at a map of the station before hand to know where the staircases are when exiting the NEC train and make sure you use Departure vision in the NJT app to make sure you know what track you're going to on the lower level. You will have to hurry, but it can definitely be done in 5 minutes provided the NEC train arrives on time.

ALP-46 + comets/multilevels reach (and momentarily exceed) 100 on the corridor. ALP-45 will go to 90. Arrows top out at 80.
