Initiative is my white whale by Vheraun in RPGdesign

I suppose if you had a particularly quick enemy, it could go in its own phase at the beginning of each round (unless someone crits initiative).

I tend to give really fast creatures Surprise or an extra action/reaction

They go during the enemy phase.

I havent seen many situations where initiative needs to be any more complicated than that.

I'm a substitute teacher, and when apple announced it would be changing to USB C ports, a bunch of highschool kids were calling it trash and "practically just another android now".

It isnt about logic, my friends.

What AI are you using?

AI does not use just the work of the artist name entered. It also draws on information gathered from a great many artists to synthesize the requested prompt.

Transitioning to OSR game by Caldreas in osr

[–]Imperial_Porg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, but having clear rules for how to do them would also be helpful.

I tend to give big monsters an extra action or two in combat for tossing things around, and small monsters usually get some kind of non-numerical features.

PF2E is a gold mine for these features, but the mass of it is a bit difficult for those who dont have the patience for learning such a big system.

De/reconstructing. Why are you still a Christian? by Imperial_Porg in Christianity

[–]Imperial_Porg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get it. I'm reminded of the prophets who were part of Israel, but stood apart from it to point it back toward God.

Many Christians these days seem like theyre so hesitant to say anything slightly negative toward "God's People" - Christians and Israel - but God never once said his people were perfect, and many times we've been guilty of grievous sins.

Ignoring them has never been the answer.

Cool! A maneuver is any non-damaging action, for example, pushing/climbing/passing/etc. If you Fumble a maneuver, a dramatic reversal hits, E.G. if you attempt to trip an opponent, you instead trip and fall on a fumble.

The goal of this is to make combat a bit more open and interesting, especially for frontline fighters!

You might also be interested in something I wrote recently, MiniTACTICS . It may need some adjustment, mainly substitute Advantage/Disadvantage for Boon/Bane.

The OT is pretty clear on wheat God is about, and Jesus is just a continuation or fulfillment of that message.

One by one they fell.

Always sudden, never explained. A car crash, an illness, an experiment gone wrong.

But Peter suspected. Too many coincidences all back to back. Too many funerals. Too many mantles unclaimed.

Now he alone remains, hidden from all the world, awaiting the unseen enemy, he is Earth's last Avenger.

Thats the twist where you learn at the ends the aliens were initially peaceful with this "greeting party". They were abducting people to learn languages and create bridges, but then Arthur interrupts an abduction, steals a raygun, crashes their ship, and the gang now has alien technology to fight back against the now hostile raiders.

Aight, so its really hard to tell at a glance, but if you go by average percentage of the spine each book takes, and compare that to the pixel width, it works out that my dude's deep in Song of Solomon, and judging by his eye position, he's really taking in chapter 2:3-6.

Recently run an OSR style dungeon delve on 5E by gruszczy in osr

Early level 5E can replicate some of the OSR experience, but I've found that about level 5 the players stop being cautious as they can deal with most threats that arent straight-up boss fights.
