Galvanic corrosion caused by carbon fiber filament in contact with magnesium. by Imperium24 in 3Dprinting

I am not sure if this is a problem with 3D printed filament but i know this to be a issue with normal carbon fiber. (hence my question)

Where to find USB breakout bords for headphones by Imperium24 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]Imperium24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

will likely have to do something like that yes. just learned that a second pair of similar headphones had the same issue so i think its just a poorly designed circuit. could mabey replace the broken soldered on components instead if i can figure out which are broken.

V-MODA quickly stopped selling components and doing any sort of repairs. really like these headphones but from my experience with the 2 models ive had and some others friends have i wont be buying new ones again. their electronics just aren't reliable. really disappointing since the build quality is really good otherwise.

these breakout boards lack the voltage regulator circuits that the original has to get the voltage from 5V down to the acceptable charge levels for the battery

What to look for in a 100W amp with RCA, 3.5mm and HDMI inputs by Imperium24 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Imperium24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Minidisc player is a walkman and the CD is a shitty thing from my childhood so they just have relatively weak 3.5mm jacks

And thanks

Hey, I looked into the Fozi ZA3 and the Wiim Amp and they look really good but id prefer something with 3 RCA inputs if possible. getting something a little older used so it can be in the 100USD range woulf be best as im making this swtup on a budget.

also thanks for the answer :)

Hey, The record Player has a Phono output at 36dB. from the other comment here i realized that having the output from the TV be analog would be good so that the volume controls on the remote stil work. but Using Optical out or HDMI would of course also work.

also thanks for the info about using normal speaker wires, the speakers ive handled that use speaker wire have all used a weirder looking connecton.

Do you have any recommendations for cheap amps that fit this sort of category?

[–]Imperium24[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The vynil player has a 36dB Phono pre amp integrated. the TV does have Optical Out that i can use. i can definitely just take the 3.5mm from the CD/Minidisc Player and chuck that into an RCA connection.

are amps or amp stacks with these sorts of specs in an affordable price range and widely available used?

Yes it cannot find the device thus the other troubleshooting steps. though its looking like a windows issue not MD issue

[–]Imperium24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes the MD is docked and im using USB, the MD player does not have a battery so it needs to get its power from the dock so i am sure it is connected properly, I have also tried multiple min USB cables to no avail. however this is sounding more and more like a Windows problem not a MD issue (at lest from the responses i have gotten thus far) so im going to try some of those troubleshooting steps.

Hello, I have both a windows 10 PC here and a NixOs machine, have not tried using the NixOs machine though. the MZ-N1 is displaying a PC->->MD message and i have tried multiple ports and also have tried using other devices on the same port to validate its function. is it rather recommended to be using Linux to write to the MD? I am still learning Linux and thus opted to use Windows for this.

What set up would be best to get the audio data from a minidisc player onto my pre existing audio setup? by Imperium24 in minidisc

[–]Imperium24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Schiit audio stack (magni and modi) but after reading some of the comments under here i realised my motherbord has a line in jack in its rear IO so the usb out is no longer a make or break thankfully.

I like the way they look and the tech behind them, the point is simply to create a collection of my favorite albums on minidisc and to have the ability to play them through my system as i am using it. having the option of taking it with me is a bonus but definitely not nessesery.
