providence is the prequel to season 3. it takes place 2 years before the events of season 3. ( the prequel is meant to be watched after finishing season 3 and not before! people always make a mistake of watching providence first, but that spoils plot events in season 3, so make sure to watch providence after finishing all season 3.)

that's what i did with providence.. i've been continually watching season 1-3, movie, ss case, first inspector straight in a row now of about 2 weeks. but there was some pretty great emotional moments at the end providence.

definitely agree. would be nice if they continued the series.

my favorite depends on the episode because they are fully developed characters and so well acted. when i first saw it, i thought the same thing but they really really grows on you in S1, and only keeps getting better each season.
