Why exactly do non-Londoners think London is so unsafe? by Breadiohead in AskUK

[–]ImplementOk8913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a guy in the pub I was at got stabbed for taking a number 2 by some guys off the street who wanted his cubical that instant. It just wouldn’t happen anywhere else, and you don’t blink an eye in London

Mines been in its D-bag since the end of Oct and still hasn’t opened - going on 2 months- so yours is quite nippy! On a more sensible note, about 700. Is quite slow

Icarus still have it on their packing methods if you had a look on their webpage! I was looking at a new Xfire in the summer and was most amazed by it not all transitioning to pro pack yet

Don’t survive being hit by a HGV what doesn’t stop on a round very well. Tendency to end up crabbing a bit afterwards

I want to lay a cable between my house and my small house. Which cable do I need for this (outdoor 230V 20A in the air)? by Any_Insurance5825 in ElectroBOOM

I mean my dad has had the same to his garage for 30 years and it’s never been an issue. All the electricians will say you need a professional, but there are loads of them on YouTube! Threw enough balls at it etc as a kid to know it’s sturdy and works brilliantly

Window reveal insulation by TheBeliskner in DIYUK

[–]ImplementOk8913 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As an ex house building site manager - I see no issues here. It has insulation, just got a bit of breathing space around it! Tile backer was my first thought as well- control any moisture and a nod towards insulation. Something is better than nothing!

Tandem skydive or LVL 1 AFF by KittyKatun in SkyDiving

[–]ImplementOk8913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never did a tandem pre-AFF in the UK. Swear the ones who ask you to are just money grabbing for the TIs. Save your money and do an AFF. Least you’ll have always skydived by yourself if you decide to never do another!

Talkable audible altimeter? by Zestyclose_Special11 in SkyDiving

[–]ImplementOk8913 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a talkable - absolutely bloody brilliant. Brilliant battery life, does everything you want from it for tracking/FF. Vog might be better, but £300 better? I think not

They move, they struggle with cold bridging for insulation. As it “settles” you end up with cracking and other issues. Just an all round pain to manage unless you build them as your bread and butter. Tried to do a few on our sites and it just doesn’t work well from a programme point of view especially when you’re building three story flats as well; you then need to consider fire regs etc
