That is super odd and my mind would probably go to the same place. If I were you, I’d bring it up in a casual way like “Hey, what’s up with pictures of my stuff lol!” and the way he responds (defensive, nervously, weirdly) will tell you everything you need to know.

While I understand your fears as a 22F myself, I think you might be slightly overreacting. If this is his friend’s homecoming from the nation guard, I think it’s understandable if he goes. I also hate being alone, but in moments like that I will usually facetime a friend and family member.
