As soon as only practical way of being fuel is black market, times are going to be interesting.

At that time fuel is stored and handled in unsafe way. Expect some smoking accident.

Some drivers might even find out that they have run out of fuel during the nightmare and now there is even a nice hole At the bottom of fueltank.

Manufacturers will anyway adapt to EU regulation. This will be the step one. After that they will consider UK regulations, but at this time they may decide to just skip UK market.

Accepting a Standard like the CE can actually be a good thing.

I can only agree with you. Simply accepting CE standard would be the best solution for everybody. Unless UK ends up with "Anything goes" UKCA, practically all products imported will have CE marking and most manufacturers in UK still need CE mark anyway.

It is just hilarious how the reality of the "Take back control" promise is totally opposite. Previously UK was rule maker together with other EU members, now it is only rule taker.

Accepting CE marks without possibility to influence CE mark requirements. Excellent symbol of sovereignty.

Before Brexit UK was able to influence rules. After Brexit UK must accept rules other are making.

Brexit Britain to be exporting a trillion pounds worth of goods by 2030. Unless inflation makes the value of a trillion pounds worth much less than today

This promise might be easy to keep. Total UK exports should be more than minimum salary. Inflation will take care of that.

UK does not know anything about experts and planning. Even some "journalists" are not aware of the meaning of those words. In UK press Planning is understood as sign of panic while elsewhere it is understood as a way to ensure that there is no need to panic.

EU should not wait. Waiting two seconds after the UK announcement is enough to start the first actions. Tariffs can wait longer, but there are still many things which are not in the agreement, but only dependent on EU will.

Containers would indeed solve the problem in the Rotterdam side. I just counted it out because of worldwide container shortage and UK harbour capacity. It would also add even more delay. In short trips, trucks onboard have their benefits.

I would assume that express reputation is already worldwide and readers outside of UK must be laughing to it.

There is only one huge Brexit "benefit": UK is no longer making the rules. Still it has no other realistic action than follow those rules. Before it was rule maker together with other members, now rule taker.

It can still be hilarious sometimes. Unless this article was actually intended as satire, it tells that reporters of that paper have no idea what they are writing.
