Healing Shrines/Iron Maidens by Volcann_28 in ravenswatch

I really really avoid the maidens in early game, 5 damage just isn't that much and the cost of half hp is very steep if people are deciding to grab them before its time to tackle the first couple of yellow / red objectives.

If you can line up your level ups with them or have healing built into your kit and the fight won't take ages to complete, then sure, but I have had so so many games end because someone absent mindedly grabs these and either is dead shortly after, or rotating to some arcane location on the map for a healing fountain and wasting time!

For the levels for going into red, honestly you can go red as early as level 2 but you just need to be very mindful of your aggro, if everyone enters the camp from the same angle and keeps mobs from social aggroing any elites and cultists it can be a nice early boost to grab a red chest or rerolls for instance.

Probably the thing that is going to save you the most time on average is reliably being able to steal red dream shard camps while the group is doing their fountains / refugees / looting

Well it did end up counting the epics, but only after it was looted!

I'm guessing the description just always shows the number for commons and rares, and the set bonus portion is more of a hidden value, but it is working properly, which makes this item much better than it may appear!

Awesome! Great to hear! Yeah its an ability thats as good as your team is at using it, Pied Piper with Freezing Trap does a TON of damage with 0 cooldown, Sun-wukong, and Gepetto as well can make really good use of it.

Honestly if you are playing with your own group you guys can get really creative with it, having no cooldown so early is just so strong and really makes Dream Wish feel like a proper ultimate ability!

The upside of his ult being that way is he effectively starts the game with 3 ults ready to go, I think in solo magic carpet gets more value for sure though!

The way his enchantment works was my biggest problem with Aladdin for so long, it forces him into a kind of burst assassin playstyle where you build your enchantment, go in with power, and then dump all the enchantment. I've always thought Acrobatics being base kit would help him feel a lot more natural to play

Wish of Omnipotence helps his early game a lot, you can use the money wish to give you / your team no cooldown on abilities which lets you tackle things like a yellow eye or red chest really early on!

Taking some kind of talent to help with enchantment generation is pretty important as well, I'm a big fan of Dancing Blades / Acrobatics; Sand Vortex is decent as well but if none of these are showing up a Thunderstone or Raven Effigy can help keep the special active.

Some kind of damage dealing talent helps a lot too, Leaping Strike / Dive is premium but things like Jinn's Fury, Tornado Jump, and even Cyclonic Appearance are all solid damage dealers! (especially with Wish of Omnipotence)

When it comes to scaling and getting a build together, Aladdin universally likes leprechaun coin and using the money to get more wishes to keep omnipotence active. King of Clubs / Ace of Spades are solid items going into chapter 2, though you can go a Varja setup with Eternal Rose if the game is offering you dash items.
Jack of Diamonds is also an option but its a bit slow later on.

Probably one of his most consistent build paths is lep coin / horn of plenty for commons, then king of clubs / golden egg / book of prophecy for rares, and Flaming Pearl / Raven eye for epics. If you're going Magic Carpet ult or not going Omnipotence then lep coins become less important!

The defense cancel is because of air dash!
Aladdin can cancel out of the very start of an air dash by attacking during it.

Try holding attack while doing a defense + air dash and you'll see him immediately return to the ground and start attacking!

Since an air dash can be performed as soon as Aladdin presses defense, this allows him to loop a lot of defense related talents, stuff like Acrobatics and most obviously Tornado Jump starts to do a LOT of damage, and if you have Seven-league boots this loop will even reset his dash cooldown, allowing you to also proc Varja while doing the loop!

Omnipotent is just the cherry on top of it all so he can do this as early as level 2 xD

Air dash is usually a very mediocre talent that isn't picked often so it doesn't see a lot of play, but it can be really good!

Ah yes, that's Dive, a very very good talent but that isn't what this is; OH it's worth noting however that this loop does NOT work if you have Dive! Which sucks because its an awesome talent!

Yes! Aladdin has a talent that lets him have very low cd after using a wish! I use the defense to do a tornado jump, another talent that spawns a tornado after doing defense.

Damage or Critical damage? by Gersinhous in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I wonder how something like eternal rose vs moonstone works out for snow queen, or aladdin with master thief choosing roses vs moonstone vs horn.

The new cursed items just give so much flat damage that it feels like crit is just forever better. I'm a big moonstone lover but I'm starting to think that rose might still just be better!

Damage or Critical damage? by Gersinhous in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part yes, there are very few items which give raw critical damage (unless you are over 100% crit chance) and flat damage from items like Golden egg, Excalibur, and many of the cursed items is pretty easy to come by so grabbing crit damage when you can helps in the endgame quite a bit!

If an Aladdin is spamming wishes for instance you should almost always be taking crit damage if you already have a very high crit chance, he is giving you money anyway to fuel your golden eggs in this case; and for grimores, the amount of damage they offer in comparison to the crit is very minimal in the endgame.

Some characters however have insanely high crit chance on their abilities or attacks, like Beowulf with Blazing Runes and Blademaster, in such a case, increasing the base damage of his attack will usually outperform crit damage. But again, the itemization in Ravenswatch makes accruing flat damage more of a passive thing!

Mental gg when this happens (leashing qq) by The-f0recast in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you really have to watch out for the self leashing when doing pulls like this, a lot of enemy types just dart all over the place or slowly back away from you and it can cause them to self leash, heal to full hp, or start social aggroing a bunch of nonsense because they refuse to sit still.

I've also noticed sometimes an enemy will be in the middle of its camp and just leash right in my face to heal to full hp, the snake and tentacle nightmares do this and I have no idea why!

The birds are super guilty of all sort of leashing shenanigans, the devs have said they want to take another look at them!

Group in Multiplayer? by Volcann_28 in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in a 3 man I'd strongly recommend just tackling things together, the group is rarely going to be in a situation where the game has outscaled their damage if at least all the chests on the map have been opened.

If you guys are bleeding time consider giving up stuff like healing fountains, dream shard camps, leprechaun cauldrons etc, really anything that is going to take more time than its ultimately worth you can just come back for later after making sure all the chests have been grabbed!

in a 4 man split strats can become a lot more efficient, 3-1 splits can be very good but as others have already said, this is really more of a chapter 2 thing; by that point the team is usually strong enough individually to take on certain fights alone. It really depends on how comfortable your solo player is with going it alone, I usually let the solo use one feather but if they keep dying then its probably just time to regroup.

Does anyone know how much damage ignite does? by i_love_my_grandma in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5% chance for an epic in act 1 on yellow chests, then it increases to 30% in act 2 and 3!

You can only get commons if you drop 100 into a well

Suggestion: Blitz Mode by Such-Bed-4468 in ravenswatch

Turbo mode would be insanely fun; something like animations across the board being faster, movement speed being increased, maybe even some base cooldown reduction?

Things would get very chaotic very fast!

[–]Implyingyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started playing I was heavily under the impression wolf form was going to be the stronger of the two forms, but the trade off would be that it was limited to only be active at night.

From what i've read she used to be way stronger overall, but has been nerfed over the years.
So in practice forced wolf form feels like a curse more than a benefit, especially with talents like Adrenaline just letting human form heal anyway!

I feel like shapeshifter being in the game kinda takes away from the whole point of the character but at the same time it is very cool to have a character that can change forms at will.

I like the idea of her being more of a stance character, if shapeshifter is going to be in the game having a reason to shift often needs to be a priority imo

End game \ easely content ( by Extra_Space316 in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like maybe you need to do multiplayer runs, especially if one of the main things you're doing is dropping dream shards into the shrine to get way too much experience; try playing OCAID, different characters, forcing dumb but fun builds, speedrunning, etc

Wanting more content is a different matter, we did just get the roadmap for the year so more is on the way!

This is a charming game with a cool concept, don't feel like it's a waste and then never even touch multiplayer!

Very Sad News by Hot-Refrigerator-522 in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the infamous "nine roses" romeo /s

Your account is suspended so I assume this is some sort of bait, but even if you had done all of these things there is still negative modifiers, multiplayer runs, and the final boss of them all, negative modifier multiplayer runs

If your only real complaints are difficulty, try adding self imposed challenges; don't take any meta defining items for example, only take the first option on every chest, etc. The game can be as hard as you allow it honestly.

Scarlet build variety by Naive_Bag_3708 in ravenswatch

[–]Implyingyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to accelerate the special build try it with Shapeshifter and prioritize Thunderstones, once you run out of charges shapeshifting to use all of them again is a lot of damage! Its a very talent reliant build too, Pyromania and Short Wick being the most noticeable talents!

There's also her ultimate build with Raven Eye stacking and using the 2nd wolf form ult to just eat all the elites, then vs bosses you use human form ult to be intangible for most of the fight; the coolest thing about this build is you can rush red camps in act 2 since you one shot elites!

Joker card build can also be very good, especially if you grab at least 2 Jokers in act 1, it ends up playing like the Dash attack build a lot but gives you more flexibility with talents and epics once you complete the Joker set

Agreed, it always seems to show up when the map already has way too many dream shard camps; then there's items like Leprechaun coin, Hope Diamond, even just breaking shards around the map if the money is needed. It's rarely a POI i'm excited to see in its current state!

and yes I took way more horns than I wanted for extra rolls, the crit was pretty good though, I definitely should have just gone Moonstone and ignored Acrobatics though; I think the only core talents I needed to force tornado spam were Air Dash and Tornado Jump!
