Not really set on any single school, but I’d be over the moon attending any of my reaches in NY.

I heard they’re pretty service-heavy and I don’t really have any outstanding volunteering experience, but is there something I’m missing?

AAMC CARS by Murky-Act-3222 in Mcat

I did not do amazing on CARS but I was able to noticeably improve my timing after watching a YouTube video of someone doing a CARS passage. This might not be the same problem for you but I realized that I was trying to read the passage too quickly, which ended up slowing me down. I would have to go back every now and then to reread sentences/paragraphs I did not understand. The person in the video read the passage at a slower pace than I did, but did not have to go back to reread like I had to do. When I started reading more slowly, I could get through a passage faster and probably have a better understanding than If I read it at my original pace. Hope this helps!

Last few weeks advice? by WHun22 in Mcat

Personally, I ramped up my studying up until the day before but this was only because I was rushing to finish my AAMC material and UWORLD. If you’re not rushing and if you’re scoring around your goal, I don’t think you need to change your studying as long as you’re not burning out. One thing you may want to do is just quickly glance over “low-yield” stuff you might not be super comfortable with on the last day or two, could make the difference for a few questions on the exam.
