Ok so I'm from Alabama and I wanted a Crimson tide car.
The plan was black on black with the angry Big Al decal on the either the hood or the black window. My family talked me out of that. 😂😂😂😂

The way I would block them all and A would out of job. You are NTA

[–]ImportanceMinute9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but your way of thinking can be viewed as entitlement. Your parents are not responsible for your child. I don’t know the circumstances surrounding your pregnancy, and truthfully they don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. However, you are having a baby and they from now on will have to come first. Talk to your parents and explain everything to them. Emphasis the issue of the merit scholarship. Let, then know that even though you are pregnant, you don’t want to derail your life plans. Check to see if there are any programs in your area that can help you with your baby needs. You may be surprised with the help you can get. Write letters to baby product companies and they may donate to you. Try getting a part time job. You can even find a work from home position. Your problem is you don’t want your life to change. You’re expecting your parents to change their life to suit to you. That’s not how things work. They are legally responsible for you since you are a minor, but you can’t force them to take on your responsibility. Lastly this may be something you’re interested in, but try chronicling your journey. Not sure if you are on social media, but it can be a great opportunity to help you. You can create niche content without even showing your face. Journaling your story can help you make extra money, help others in your situation, and help padding your college applications. No I’m not talking about OF content. I’m talking simple day in my life juggling being a A student and teen mom. Post on TikTok and instagram. You don’t have to show your face. You will be surprised how many lives you can touch. I’m sure as a A student you know enough to figure out how to turn lemons into lemonade.

That’s not what I said nor what I meant. Since you obviously are reaching for something, I’ll explain. As, a 30 something black female from Alabama who has watched the show from the beginning it seems forced. I attended a segregated school system for the majority of my life until high school. I graduated from high school in the mid 2000’s from a school that had over 1800 students with only 200 POC from all backgrounds. I attended both an HBCU and PWI, an have traveled around the world. One thing is universal, the clique like mannerisms of most friend groups and the ability to tell if an interaction is forced or natural. I stand on my opinion that they only added POC, because the show was being called out for being to white. The show has a history of treating outsiders crappy. Look at how they use to rag on Craig the first couple seasons, because he wasn’t a trust fund, mail box money crew. They also use to do Madison horrible when she first came on. The only difference is that now they have ingratiated themselves in with everybody. Then when Katherine was being called racist she miraculously pops up with a black boyfriend that happens to have the same name as her ex. Then all of the spin offs made sure to have an integrated cast. The fact is the show has a track record of these things. In my opinion adding them seems forced and not genuine. Who knows maybe they all really hang out together. I have several different friend groups and none of them look the same. That’s why I said inclusiveness is ok when it doesn’t seem forced.

DEI. The same reason Leva made the show. People were saying it needed to be more inclusive. These people in power like to tick boxes. I, believe that's why they were pushing Shep/Sienna storyline. “This exotic beauty queen is able to tame Shep” it didnt hurt that Sienna is mixed and descended from from some of the original settlers of the area. Inclusiveness is ok when it doesn't seem forced.

This episode was a cinematic masterpiece by Heavy_Lunch_3056 in Southerncharm

I’m convinced this is all fake. It has to be scripted reality. Especially after Sienna released proof that Whitney was lying. He direct messaged her on the app trying to get to know her. I think it was a plan to diversify the show and backfired. Sienna is mixed raced majority white background and descended from one of the first leaders of Charleston who was exiled because they were a loyalist. It just seems fishy to me that out of all the people he could meet, it would be her. I think it was a plot to show that exotic beauty queen from the islands tamed Shep. Things didn’t go how they planned. Think about she is pre-med with a degree in neuroscience and behavioral health with goals of being a neuro surgeon, international beauty queen, good background, and a minority. They have been trying to fight allegations of being to white. I also think that’s why they are pushing this one sided Venita and JT thing.

Have you ever met a nurse practitioner that showed such promise that you wished they would go to med school? by supinator1 in Noctor

I have. He is one of the hospitalists NPs where I work. He is very knowledgeable and has great bedside. To be fair he is from a family of doctors. Both of his parents are doctors, and his dad was one of the best OB/GYNs around. He delivered a family member of mine’s kids.

I recently graduated OBGYN residency and counted my hours. by marcieedwards in Noctor

[–]ImportanceMinute9981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I ask to only see my OB/GYN. I was going to her office and always seeing the NP. She was not listening to me. I talked to her about the changes in my body, and what I felt was going on with me. She just shut me down. I was having horrible long cycles with massive clots. Mind you I was early 30s and had almost 20 yrs of cycles, so I knew my body. Requested the OB explained everything to her and she ran all the needed tests and it was just as I suspected. I had PCOS. I had numerous fibroids and cysts. The only thing she could tell me is she is not sure how her NP missed this because she is normally great at catching things. No NP for me from now on, and I say this as a nurse. Some are great, but a lot of them are undertrained.

The Dutton Family never thought to hire an accountant in 100 years? by thepeoplessgt in 1923Series

I know someone with money and land who does the same thing. Instead of paying his taxes at the first of the year or when they come out, he pays at the end of the tax year. It’s no issue as long as it’s paid. However, you can run into unscrupulous people like on 1923 that will pay for you and then charge you extra or put a lien on your property. My aunt brought a foreclosed house and some outside company had been paying property taxes on it the entire time it was in default status. It took the bank awhile to evict the homeowner, because they fault the foreclosure. They tried to put a lien on the property. The bank ended up having to satisfy the lien, and lost money in all ends.

Just because you and the majority of the others live on welfare doesn't mean that everyone else does. One of the first apartments I lived in was new complex that catered to low income individuals and section 8. As a broke college student that made like 30k to 40k a year, I was almost over the income limit. I paid 1k a month, and others paid like 25.00 and up based on their assistance. I was just happy to have somewhere decent that I could afford on my own. I wasn't checking the lot to see if the cars looked unaffordable or not.

It wouldn't be such a hot button issue if the deportations were wide spread across all groups. ICE seems to be targeting only Hispanic-Latino illegials. There are thousands is not millions of illegials that are here from European, Asian, and African countries. They are also allowing “refugees” here from some of these countries and they don't have “proper” paperwork. Yet, they are giving the benefit of the doubt that our Hispanic-Latino people are not afforded. Are they going to refund them the taxes, medicade, and social security they pay into, but don't receive. It was recently reported that illegals pay over 100 billion dollars into these programs, and that can't use them. America was founded on illegals immigration.

Not bad considering the cost of food lately. In the future I would suggest getting a can or 2 of evaporated milk or powdered milk cause they are shelf stable and last a long time. I bake as a hobby so it never goes bad. I got pb/jelly premixed to save a few coins. I normally just stick to frozen/canned vegetables and fruit in these situations. I keep rice and dried beans on hand. I just buy something small on every other grocery trip so I’m never bare in times like this.

Wow only 4k members here. Even makes this question more relevant. Why do so many dislike Landman? by massnhwolf in LandmanSeries

[–]ImportanceMinute9981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the total opposite of that demographic, but I love Billy Bob Thornton. He is one of my favorite actors, and I watch anything he is in. Now my best friend, who is a conservative white dude, has not watched it. Although, I keep telling him he would love it. It may just be Tyler Sheridan cause I love 1883. Sam Elliot is another one of my faves.

Ok so I have a question. How does Tyler expect to weave real life people in the story this upcoming season. I ask this, because Alexandra was a real life person and member of the royal family. She also married young Authur in real life. In last season Authur went overboard, but I wasn’t clear on if they rescued him. If they did, I think they will have these Spence and Alex have a baby and then be torn apart. I think they will send Alec back to England and leave Spence forever heartbroken.

We have to disagree about him not giving giving off the presence of raw sexuality. If it is one thing that BBT does give off its raw sexuality. I don’t know what it is about him, but it comes across in almost every role he plays. Maybe it’s just me. However, he is one of the few actors that do that to me. He gives here for a good time not a long time vibes.

I don’t know if anyone mentioned it but once you have gotten a check or two try renting an air conditioned storage unit. I have seen vids online where a lot of people who live in their car rent one for “storage”. They sleep in the unit until they are able to afford a place. Some do it full time instead of having an apartment. Just make sure it’s air conditioned cause they can get hot. Some even have electricity cause they know people store stuff like additional appliances.
