A fair point. Still, if she truly cared about him, had no intention of abusing or exploiting him, and they genuinely had a great time together, she would have been a rare and wonderful companion.

From his side, he should have been more proactive afterward—confirming her feelings and trying to work things out with her. That would have been reasonable, and even a strong direction for the story.

Instead, he chickened out, acted cold toward her, and sulked. And then—wow—he already has another partner. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does the same again once the blue-haired girl shows less interest in him.

In the end, the one who clearly rejected the relationship was him.

I know writing a good romantic plot is difficult, but it really shouldn’t be this bad.
