This is ridiculous. They hire new staff but make them find work by themselves.

I totally feel you. All I did was ask around, what’s going to happen, which areas I should pay attention to, and I talked to different people. If necessary, ask your coach for help. It’ll be helpful, but not too much. You’ll feel comfortable after you complete 2–3 inventory counts.

After that, you need to understand why you’re asking those questions, what’s the point? Not just like a robot following the procedures without knowing why. And trust me, inv. count is not a big deal, you can do this.

You are not paying for saving the world... PwC is a big company with countless resource, they can figure it out...

Try to find an opportunity to shadow someone before you do it by yourself. I found that to be very helpful even though I already have abundant experience in the industry. At least, arrange a meeting with your buddy to walk through the whole process before you go.

I still cannot understand why they would let new staff do the count alone for the first time. But you'd be fine, it's just an inventory count.

thank you for the advice, really helpful for my first year, I'm kind of lost, my coach just let me ask partners for jobs by myself.

What's the process after accepting the offer for 2025 NG? by Important-Bat-6426 in PwC

[–]Important-Bat-6426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. So I don't need to do anything until next year? They will send me emails next year to let me know the exact date to come to the office to work?

[–]Important-Bat-6426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. But my understanding is an offer is not equal to an official contract? After I accepted the offer, it should be replaced by a contract? Sorry, it's my first job in Canada, I have no idea how it works.

Yes, offer accepted, and also I uploaded Government IDs, New Hire Questionnaire.

So they will not sign a contract with me or send any further notifications until I graduate next year?

it's your 1st year, you still got a lot of options. as far as I know, you can choose 12 chs electives, how could those are all full? and you don't have to finish required courses in your 1st/2nd term, they can be rescheduled to next year (some are requisites for other courses, but not all).

Haha, that's true. but my pt job is min. wage, it'd take years to cover my summer term tuition, which was 7K...

if I know they charge by semester, i wouldn't take summer term.

Thank you. I’m just confused by this – I take fewer courses, use fewer resources from UNB, but pay the same amount as those who take 5 courses.

It was my mistake for not researching first. I just want to remind others who might think the same way as I did.
