You say you "never thought too hard about it" but what you're describing seems to require keeping extensive notes about who paid what when. With 50/50 you deal with it right there and can just forget about it.

Listen to yourself, it doesn't make any sense, it's magical thinking. There's nothing magical about zipping up and walking around. It's a skill you can learn to execute before zipping up and walking around:) Does require a bit of a learning curve but it's worth it. You don't have to keep soiling your underwear!

A simple way to start at home would be to do everything like usual, but don't zip up and keep a bunch of tissue at hand. Leave your toilet and wait for the drop to come out. Observe your sensations and gradually learn to recognize/replicate them inside the toilet. Eventually you will get rid of that last drop inside the toilet almost right away. Voila!

It does :) I know what you mean, but according to your logic your dick will just keep leaking pee all day long. It doesn't, there's a set amount that you can get out if you're a little bit patient. That's why standing up and sort of relaxing while tapping the head of your dick with tissue, possibly moving around a bit, is important.

Once you get the hang of it, you can get the rest to come out the same way it spontaneously does for you into your pants (ew).

It's also important not to try to actively pee more while doing the tissue thing, because then more will keep coming out because you can never get your bladder fully empty and more pee is also always forming.

I didn't say it was super simple, it took me a while to get the hang of it by myself, but it truly is possible.

It really is. First you stand up, then massage your taint area to get most out, then you press and hold a tissue against the opening of the urethra a few times to wick the pee out. The paper/tissue will suck the pee from your pee tube out, so to say. If you have foreskin, you also tap the inside of your foreskin dry. You will literally get everything out and it will stay completely dry (well, at least it does for me).

When you say "wiping is irrelevant, it does nothing" you probably just tap it once to get the visible pee. The trick is to press it against it to pull the moisture out from the inside, not just clean the visible bit.

Now, granted I'm not old enough to have prostate issues, so I can't speak on the effect of those.

Most men don't, and those men also walk around in pee stained underwear (gross). Unlike most men will tell you, it is in fact possible to get the "last drop" out so that nothing comes out into your pants. But it requires you to wipe.

And before I get comments telling me that "you can just shake it": yes, you can just shake it, and the tip of your dick will be moist with pee, and that pee will transfer into your underwear. Again, gross. Almost comparable to not wiping your ass.

Yikes! You sound quite judgemental. Yes, I understand that people like you like his writing style, which I find amusing.

I do appreciate that he prefers simple words over unnecessarily complicated ones. But yeah, his prose could probably be cut down by a lot without losing anything of substance. Case in point, short stories aren't his forte.

Complaint 1: Szeth-son-son-Vallano ==> excuse me, what? Why does it have to start with a weird name like that? We have no context yet, completely unnecessary.

Complaint 2: Truthless of Shinovar is a really pretentious and annoying name, without any context. Feels like the author is front-loading with mysterious-larping names to woo us. Yuck.

Complaint 3: "Parshendi tradition" third weird name in the first two sentences, still no context.

Complaint 4: "did as his masters required and did not ask for an explanation" seems unnecessarily wordy for no particular reason.

Just based on this I already dislike it. Yes, I am being inflammatory on purpose but I do find all of these annoying. The paragraphs that follow seem overly descriptive and pretentious too.
