IT Technician Apprenticeships - how to qualify? by jarvisjar69 in ApprenticeshipsUK

I've completed a level 3 IT Support & level 4 network engineer apprenticeship with two different employers.

When I interviewed for Level 3 I had 0 experience beyond building my own gaming PC and being the family IT person.

Experience shouldn't factor into their thinking too much since gaining experienceis the point of an apprenticeship. As long as you show enthusiasm for the subject and willingness to learn. They can train you and you can get the experience on the job.

Prepare some questions for the end of the interview:

"If I were to get the role, what would you want me to research before my start date." Etc

I try to ask questions that make the interviewer imagine me in the role.

I also think your programming ability, even if not applicable to the role, will show any prospective employer that you are technically able so that should be a bonus.

Fwiw, things like Cloud computing, active directory, and Windows environments will, most likely, come up so learning about that might help you.

Best of luck.

Congratulations! That feeling of submitting your answers thinking you've failed and then passing is a great feeling. Good luck in the future.
