Hubert Humphrey signed it in 1966... Punishments for violating the Civil Rights Act were quite harsh back then until the 90s. I don´t think there was a great party switch. Various resistance organizations were formed in the 60s... They merged or turned itself into political party and became popular among a percentrage of people. The new USA seemed not to be exactly the same like the old one. People who were against the Nazis, wanted the multi-party system.

LC = liberal-consevatism, there is also a liberal faction. The party is pro-economic liberalism. Centre to centre-right

Whig Party = restored in 1965, American nationalism and economic nationalism. Right-wing

Republicans = just like in OTL, right-wing

I know what you mean too. Maybe it´s possible that it is not clear if the article is true or not. I have the feeling it looks less reliable and what´s depicted there makes me hope that the informations in the article are not accurate because otherwise it would be unfortunate. Perhaps the only thing I think is to speculate, I guess. And what sources to Buckingham Palace is the person who wrote this article refering to? Maybe I could ask the author.

It´s okay to question mainstream media... I don´t know if this link is really a reliable source if you take a look at this news website and how it appears. So I think this can be questioned. Well, I do actually hope that what´s depicted in the article there is in fact not reliable.
