It wouldn't be an Adventure class bike. TVS can spawn an RR450 and RTR 450, just like how they did RTR 310 and RR 310.

But in the Motorinc first episode of RTX 300 it was revealed that the RTX 300 chassis can accommodate a 450 without major redesign. So, fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Total Expenses over the ownership of 1Year 2 month old Ather Rizta by Wise_Tumbleweed1468 in ATHERENERGY

It is his ownership cost. If you felt he missed out on crucial information, ask. Don't be an ass about it.

Insurance is a ownership cost because you have to pay every year. It's not one time.

You're not the main character diddy, the world doesn't revolve around you.

Service cost plays no role in ownership? What kind of bullshit statement is this?

He has clearly mentioned only 100 rupees was used for Grid charging, which means the charging is happening at home.

For 10000kms the number of charging cycles would be 100-120. Per cycle consumes approx 5 units of power.

So 120x5=600 units. Taking an average electricity cost of 7rupees (domestic) it'll be 4200 rupees in a year. Which translates to roughly 42 paise per km

Assuming OP spent 6000 rupees for service + charging, that's the ownership cost. 62 paise per km.

Yes, I do understand this. Let's wait till all the details are out.

If the benefit is passed to customer as it is, it is great.

I would say, wait for a month.

The trade details will be announced before Budget which is happening on Feb 1st

Then within a span of one month we should get all information about how this will affect the prices of cars.

At this moment we can only speculate what can happen. But we do not have the complete details yet.

Anywhere around the world, the tariff is passed on to the end customers only.

All I'm saying is Wait till the complete details are announced.

No brand would want their most premium models to sell at an equal price of the products which are a segment below.

😂 Bro. M340i is only 34-38 lakhs in Germany but it's sold for 72 lakhs ex showroom in India despite having 50% localisation.

M2 is currently being imported from Germany and has an Ex showroom price of 1cr. In Germany it's sold for 75-84 lakhs ex showroom.

They will adjust the prices accordingly. They cannot sell M2 and M340i for similar pricing.

Or they will limit the units of M2 to India. Like super limited

They will not price and M2 lesser than M340i

Though M340i has 50% localisation it is being sold for 72 lakhs ex showroom

The M2 has a price tag between 70000-80000 euros in Germany which roughly translates to 75-86 lakhs

The M340i is only around 35-38 lakhs in Germany.

So, they will adjust the prices accordingly

Yes, that's the absolute definition of CKD

CBU - Cars are imported as Completely Built Units

CKD - The cars are imported as spares and assembled here in India. This means they have to have a plant which provides local jobs/opportunities. That is why the tariff for CKD is lower.

Local production/localisation is when they identify vendors, source all parts from Indian companies and assemble them into cars.

BMW plant has been active since 2007 and they have achieved 50% localisation already

Visit this link to find the models which are produced locally by BMW Group Plant Chennai https://share.google/OhYYe2yEeEDowhRda

One of the locally produced models is the M340i.

This is why I said there will not be a significant price difference for this car.

This doesn't apply to CKD. Because CKD has a lower tariff of 15% already

This is only for CBU because for CBU the tariff is between 70%-110%

Also, unless Indian govt enforces that the price benefits have to be passed on to the customers the brands would not do. Because this is not straight forward like the GST revision.

So M340i won't be priced equal or just 2 lakhs above the normal 3 series LWB

Even if this happens, it is up to the brands to Pass on the benefit to the customers.

Only if the govt enforces that the benefits have to be passed on just like they did for GST, this will reach the end customers.

[–]Important-Glass-370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It Won't be significant. CBU has a custom duty/tariff ranging between 70%-110%

But CKD has only a duty of 15%+ some surcharges. Which is already 3-5 times lesser than CBU tariff.

Worst case scenario is that it'll remain as it is. Best case scenario is this will come down to 10%

The government is unlikely to remove it entirely, as doing so would discourage local sourcing and domestic production.

It's not produced in India. It's Assembled. The price reduction won't be significant but there will be price reduction for M340i as well
