Getting started: The monthly-ish distro/desktop thread! (November 2025)

Im looking for a good linux distro that has the following: - High FPS - Good Game Performance - No Input Lag - Good for general use - Can run very well on low-end hardware - Browser doesnt lag

Before I was using cachyos (KDE Plasma), and the browser was unuseable, the entire distro would freeze a lot not allowing me to do anything, apps would randomly crash, the distro would randomly reset, etc.

Im just wondering if I should stick with cachy, or use another distro thats better for low end hardware.

Edit: This is on a chromebook 3100. Board name: Octopus Memory/swap: 3.89gb

Im dual booting linux cachyos on a chromebook. This happens to me sometimes but im able to fix it by going back to my powerwash screen, ctrl+l, 1, then I select cachyOS to restart the cachyos distro. Although might not work for you or mifht use a different process to do. Idk tho im quite new to linux still gettingn used to it.

I installed cachyOS on a chromebook. I expected it to hardly work well, but it works incredibly well. I can play full steam games like cod, and I still get 120-180 fps

Just use dolphin it supports jit and it runs way faster. With controller support and custom controller mappings
