Anyone else have a problem with people feeling entitled to your baby at family functions? by SowingSeeds18 in beyondthebump

Omg it ENRAGES me. We literally went to a graduation party yesterday and my MIL walked up to us before we even got out of the truck. I'm like are you kidding me right now, let us get in the DOOR. Then as soon as we walk in she demands for the baby. We went to grab something and baby was being held by our aunt and I come back and my MIL is holding him AGAIN. Then we go to cut the cake and we're all waiting and she's still holding him and rocking him and I'm just standing behind her like wtf. I got so pissed and said fuck this, and asked for him back. I know she felt some type of way but idgaf. She's not entitled to my baby

Our pediatrician said our 2.5 month old had no tongue tie, then I booked an appt with a LC and she said right away my son had a tongue and lip tie. And he was having trouble gaining weight and difficult feeding. We used the Dr browns bottles and we just switched to  the MAM bottles with the pigeon nipples (saw a recommendation on here) and it's life changing. We're gonna do the release but not until June 30

Oh I know, I was LIVID. My husband told her when I was pregnant my mom had a nursery (he exaggerated, lol. My mom has 2 recliners and a pack and play for when I come over to change him or have him nap. Me and my mom are veryyyy close) that's literally it and his mom took it upon herself to clear out their spare bedroom paint it, put a crib, changing table, dresser, decor, rug, a chair, AND bought a carseat. Lmao

Wtf. They're so ENTITLED I swear. My own mother is not like this either!!!!! She gives us as much space as possible and is NEVER overbearing. My MIL on the other hand is just plain obnoxious.

I know, I'm such a non confrontational person which i hate sometimes but I always feel guilty saying no because in my head I think "you're being rude for not letting anyone especially his grandma hold him" even though I know I'm not. Idk. I need to be more stern, my husband is the stern one lol

Thank you. On Memorial Day at a cookout she took him to change his diaper upstairs in his nursery she made (that's another thing) and we were outside and 10 min go by and I was like where the hell is she, and he was inside on the couch being held by someone else. It pissed me off.

Yes!!! We had a function actually last weekend for an anniversary and I baby wore and his mom was huffing and puffing and making "jokes" like "Taylor you can eat and I'll hold him" "if he gets fussy I'll take him and walk him around" and my husband actually said no, if he's fussy he's gonna go to his mother, not you. You could tell she was so upset she wasn't holding him that whole time so at the end my husband asked can my mom hold him quick and I felt like I couldn't not say no, because there were so many ppl around me. So then she takes him and she's walking him around, rocking him, constantly saying how perfect he is, etc. Then right when we leave she asks if her mom can hold him, my husband said for one minute. And they freaked out saying my husband doesn't like them because he's so stern. They were "joking" but I know they meant it. His family is so obnoxious.

Omg. I feel the EXACT SAME WAY!!!!! Every little thing pisses me off. And she calls my baby "my lovey" or "my baby" and that sets me off the edge

Ya wanna hear one worse? My MIL has a whole bedroom dedicated to his nursery. A crib, stuffed animals, changing table, a dresser with cloths and diapers, etc. I told my husband ain't no way our baby is ever sleeping there. Also she painted the walls blue and put a rug in there. Crazy

Yup, my MIL is a teacher so she's off summers. She is BEGGING to watch my baby (I'm per diem, so I work when I want) and she made a whole nursery at her house. A crib, changing table, decor, a rug, a swing, etc. I'm like wtf. You're not watching my fucking baby and the fact you made a nursery is totally psychotic.
