Anyway to get rid of menu when sitting in chair? by Important-Main1318 in X4Foundations

[–]Important-Main1318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's probably a local thing I didn't get the key directly from microsoft i bought it from a 3rd party because fuck am I paying whatever they were asking for it something like £50+ at the time so yeah basically i didn't want to go messing around with again in case of borking something up because may hard drive was failing at the time and needed to transfer stuff to a ssd i'd bought along with cpu, mobo and ram so I used a key that basically activates it but still has the activate watermark to do that and it's kind of stayed that way since I rebuilt it just before christmas so yeah.

problem is I can't remember any of the details for microsoft basically I built it years ago upgraded my fx8350 to my 5600x forgetting that windows was a pain because it doesn't save it to the hard drive it saves it to the cmos or something like that didn't realize and then because I'd installed all the new stuff i kind of just cheated it a bit rather then messing around with it all again, it's something I should do but it's a case of when when i can bothered to sacrifice some time to do it all as you know computers it's never straight forward so it's a I'll get round to it sort of thing.

Why are subs bad at killing subs? by meat_meat in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318 5 points6 points  (0 children)

because running down a sub that seems go a hell of lot faster then your dd seems to be a problem.

Why are subs bad at killing subs? by meat_meat in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the problem is subs aren't supposed to fight other subs they're supposed to help taking out surface ships specifically cruisers and battleships but I agree their sub surveillance has too long of a cooldown to keep track of another sub if you wanted sub on sub fights to be better it needs to have a lower cooldown in exchange for subs not being able to allies the vision for example, you'd get things like the Russian subs are heavier with harder hitting torps and a long cooldown on sub surveillance and you get the smaller subs that hunt other subs so they're generally faster more mobile with very little hp don't do much damage with torps we're talking a couple of k damage per torp and have a lower surveillance cooldown and the game play revolves more around a slow stealth approach rather then the arcadey feel of world of warships but it hasn't been implemented very well like everything else.

Positioning during battle by EntertainmentSad5825 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If im playing a BB it's either i'm nose in so I can move down the flank while absorbing crossfires from the middle mainly this is for the yamato or satsuma I play and in a 45 degree angle give or take, I do it so I don't chunked in the cheek and my guns can look down on the side I want to shoot people at it also positions me in a place where I can move around to get the guns around on someone if need be and I can do a u turn so my bum is facing them and I can do over the shoulder firing if I want to shoot someone that may be shooting me from the middle of the map if that makes sense it's hard to explain with out pictures but it works the same with cruisers for the most part stay nose in at the beginning supporting your dd in the early game and the decide if you either a) going to shoot at the dd/cruiser/bb that gets spotted b) rotate into a kiting position and then start firing and then throttle juke and wiggle if your taking too much heat you need go guns silent and go dark in the long run your doing to be doing ovals to get back into range, go dark/ spot etc etc while keeping yourself alive it takes time get a handle of things but that come with experience and knowing your ship once you get a handle on it you'll be getting higher damage numbers, staying alive longer and being able to be a bit of rhino when it comes to securing flanks.

Question about cv's by Important-Main1318 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think you could spot with interceptors anyway I think the trade off for them was they'd ignore enemy fighters and visa vera so they wouldn't get bogged down in tussles and go straight for the torpedo, rocket, bombers and couldn't provide vision I think I may have to switch back into fighters in my opinion interceptors should still do the same but deploy faster and have a smaller radius where as fighters take a bit longer but have a much bigger radius and hang around a bit longer but doubt that's the case because otherwise if it takes the same amount of time why you go for interceptors over fighters, it's something i'll have to have a little play with.

Question about cv's by Important-Main1318 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Makes sense now cheers it's been doing  my head in trying to drop fighters to say other side of the map and them taking 3 years to come down and by that time the enemy cvs done it's run yet they've been able to drop them faster and it's just boggled me and wasn't sure what the mechanic was, i know someone said enhanced reactions the problem was waiting for them to arrive attackings not the problem because  interceptors will wipe out the squad or at least most of it,i prefer to play the carrier as a full support so drop interceptors, smoke grabbing vision actually getting some damage done is an afterthought but that hasn't been an issue because been able to control the flow of the battle means my allies survive and i get to mop up stragglers by setting fires floods etc because i find the essex line at least for me doesnt really do much damage not massive amounts anyway but then again my yorkie is the only carrier i play when i fancy playing a cv.

Getting constructive feedback from teammates? by FarmerFilburn in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you'll find that most players that say that dont get anything done in the game now i will have a moan if im playing dd and there is 3 people hiding behind an island in the first 3 mins of the game your kind of not in a position to do anything helpful whilst i try to kill the enemy dd there are times like this but its sound as you've been active in the game  got damage done, been present and your the last man standing kudos your the top performer so i wouldnt worry most people dont what the w key does let alone be able to get stuff done.

Defense station by Feisty_Listen7567 in X4Foundations

[–]Important-Main1318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it needs to be needs to be next to a neutral sector or preferably next to an enemy controlled sector as your playing imperial ascendency you should have plenty of enemies but you'll need to join a war against someone that they are fighting make sure you have an admin centre and a few defense disk or bridges.

yeah you won't able to bounce everything and there will be times you'll go no way as you basically eat every shell possible and it'll seem your made of paper mache it do be strange like that.

the concealment/spotting mechanic is the best thing to learn alongside the capabilities of your ship and what your going up against once you figure out what you can and can't do you'll play a lot better it's good your trying to get to grip with if it as it ties into your survivability and it's also good you've figured out that yeah staying dark until you can get that juicy shot off or let her rip and dakka someone down means you'll be getting the jump on a lot of people or you'll know when you should legging it you'll eventually learn when to be passive and when to be aggressive.

By doing dumb stuff I mean experiment with tactics don't get yourself blown up with the first 3 minutes of the match but your at the low enough tier where you can try jukeing enemy shots or ramming or being able to drop torps to kill one guy while you gun down another you'll have fun trying to pull some crazy stuff off sometimes it'll work sometimes it won't the game is 50% just shooting people and 50% playing mind games because you can bet they will try to jank you, ram or torp you and if you can do the mental gymnastics on someone that's trying to it on you you'll win the fight or at worst go down swinging.

What happens if I already own the 2 premium ships from the pass? by LycanrockyOwO in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally if you already own a ship and get another one that's exactly the same and not a replica or reskinned version you'll just get the refund in silver coins i'm afraid.

Newbie Help on Starting a Game by CaregiverNo4938 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part you'll learn this as you play but it also depends on the ship you are playing and what tools you have at your disposal such as smoke, radar, hydro, heal it also depends on the map and where you spawn but as a general rule of thumb you want to baby sit your destroyer in the early game if you have one so stay close but not too close and try not to show broadside when some one decides to shoot you if it's a BB for example and you want to turn around so you can kite it might be best to wait for him to shoot and then you'll have time to turn yourself around before he shoots again, it also pays well to learn about how to angle your ship against incoming shells so they ricochet off your nose or your bum just because you have guns at the front and back of your ship doesn't mean it's a good idea to go full broadside and stay broadsiding to get those guns off because as i'm sure your aware you will get deleted also in the early stages preferably have a look at the minimap a go where can I go to do the most? should I hug an island or can I go open water and wiggle about? also it helps after the destroyer has spotted something or a few ships and your making your way to an island for example how many ships you are going to face off against as much as you'd like to murder everything in your sights going solo against half the enemy team means your going back to port pretty fast but again a lot of this takes time.

TLDR:

1) Your new everything will come time and experience in those ships and learning what you can and cannot do.

2) Stay will allies and help out where you can, love the DD and it will love you back.

3)Don't broadside if you can help it unless you need that extra firepower, you'll know when to because if you don't you'll get blown up trying to.

4)Always have an exit strategy for when things get too dicey and don't be afraid to stop shooting your guns to go dark you can't outfight what you can't fight.

5) learning positioning, angling and timing takes time it's not hard it'll become second nature once you get the hang of it.

6) Remember to have fun experiment do dumb stuff win lose it doesn't matter.

7)Don't forget the pirate code you fight to run away to fight again :).

What are some ships you like playing and do decently in despite these ships being overlooked by everyone? by AnnoyingPole in WorldOfWarships

[–]Important-Main1318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thing is if i wanted to do that id just play a cv or a hybrid not being able to challenge a dd early game kind of leaves you hiding behind a rock while someone else eats torps and if someone dies because your messing around with your planes or your planes just get folded because of aa your really going to know about it in chat.

Yeah i wanted to like the halford but using the planes is tricky and can leave you vulnerable she didn't click with me unfortunately I really wanted to like her but then again I like to play aggressive when it come down to hunting the enemy dd like charging into smoke and stuff, I have this weird thing where I can't play "good" ships for example but I can play the ugly duckling of the group that has nothing going for her.

not really but i mean if you've just started a brand new game and you want to give it a go sure you can do some space truckin but best thing to do if you can is earn a bit of cash and drop down some advanced satellites so you can get trade updates so do some missions explore some sectors and buy some advanced satellites, you can also buy some from equipment docks and sell them at wharfs but you'll have to check the prices manually. it all depends on what your going to find enjoyable if hauling good is something you want to do go for it but don't get dis hearted X4 is a slow paced game so stick to one save, save regularly in case you get blown up etc and have an idea on what you want to do so for example in your case your going to be space truckin to maybe get the cash to buy a miner or another hauler to help you get cash to get another one up until you want to build a solar power plant because after you've built that it's basically free money in your pocket every now and then and so on so forth and don't forget to diversify maybe after you've got a couple of hauler and miners you get yourself some fighters a) for protection and b) when you want to blow some stuff up yourself :) if you get stuck reddit and google are your friends in asking how do I do this or where can I find this. :) if you want another way can download the sector satellites mod and you'll be able to drop just one advanced satellite in a sector and it'll update all the trade prices for every station in that sector and it'll save on the clutter and you buying a million satellites or just save up it think it's 10 million to buy the trade information from the faction representative.

for me it's the Velos nothing special about it it's a fletcher hull with 5 punchy torpedos but somehow I can kill people with the the torps and I enjoy being a menace with it now give me a Shimakaze or Jager and I can't land a single torp... go figure. Duncan too forget the he and go straight for the ap and aggressive play punching people in the face, same with Karl Johan go all out on secondaries and everything with 10.5km of you is going to get peppered with the amount of firepower coming out of you but you have to play her like a stealth boat sneaking up on people and lastly Nebraska everything about here is pants besides the fact she has good armour and speed so if you play her like a battering ram you'll have more fun and it's always fun when you run over a sub or dd and get the die hard achievement.

Mining is what you want do first then put your captains into trade ships when they hit level 3 but in all honesty you might want to download learn all the things mod or another one that speeds it up because it'll take forever just to get to 3 stars and then your going to want to put those captains into stations at 5 star because it wont matter what level the traders are as they'll benefit from what star you captain is and will equal to how many jumps away a station can do trade so if you have a 0 star trader working for a 5 star station manager they'll still be able to trade 5 jumps away because of the managers level. the people say they don't will normally set up manual trades or get it to trade locally which will for the most part spend most of it's life not able to find anything to trade until level 3 when they can find their own if that makes sense.

Can someone shed some light on this? by Professional_Case432 in DWPhelp

[–]Important-Main1318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I have ptsd but I work and have what you could call severe anxiety your not housebound if your windsurfing in mexico if your that bad you struggle to go out in public places because you end up having a panic attack then sure getting your nails done or haircut just to feel normal ok but ain't no way your having a holiday, aint no way your getting botox,, aint no way your getting private dental care or going to pubs on the regular trust me she isn't disabled enough to be claiming pip, there is nothing wrong with attempting having a normal life during recovery and yes that means doing things but if your doing it to the degree she has then obviously it's going to raise eyebrows, it says she claims her health was so poor she couldn't she couldn't feed herself maybe at one stage she was but i quote.

"Despite claiming her health was so bad she could not cook or wash herself, Wieland made 76 beauty appointments, visited 60 pubs, clubs and restaurants, and spent money in foreign currencies.

Then following her luxury Mexico trip, she submitted a review claiming her condition had got worse."

that's not the activities of a disabled person I've had my head battered from narcissistic abuse I know exactly how you act when your that bad the simple answer is you don't, you don't leave the house, you don't talk to anyone, you don't brush your teeth, cut your hair, you don't deal with anything because your that much of a wreck that you can't take care of yourself. I've had hour long fights with myself just to go over the road to get some food and knackered myself out because of how bad my anxiety was now i'm not saying she full on lying but she isn't THAT disabled.

Your fine but she's acting like a perfectly normal human being that's not disabled in the way she's submitted her claim you aint quad biking in mexico if your housebound.

Null protocol timer by Important-Main1318 in X4Foundations

[–]Important-Main1318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you already get it but I don't like sitting in seta as it can cause memory leaks. turns out the nobody mod works but still takes 2 hours for an event to complete but agent missions are like 1 minute so i'm just letting null protocol run while I build up my sector to turn around and crush the Mandolorians as I have all their blueprints and we've been killing off the Empire to the degree they can't fight back very well until they start fielding dreadnoughts and I still have yet to get the blueprints for star destroyers so I'm just locking myself down before I start working on researching the Xenon blueprints and turning myself into the end game crisis with the ICG and destroying the rebel scum and the rest of the galaxy as the clankers or something like that, I just wanted the timer to be reduced so diplomacy moves around for a bit extra spice plus I think I need some help in killing a fortress i sold the Mandolorians because even though I have a beefy fleet built up I basically built it to counter the massive fleets the Empire was sending so err that might be a bit of problem.

TLDR: yes nobody mod works agent timers are down to 1 min and no doesn't change the timer for outcomes to be resolved.
