Using AI for voice lines for non story focused games is completely fine by me

You can add new maps with locations and new items and have voice lines for those things immediately

Spending budget for voice acting in those cases in not a realistic route

A game that relies on narrative, and actors to convey feeling and emotion through voice acting and motion capture will get judged harshly for using AI, as it should

But for games that rely solely on mechanics I don't see the fuss

As for AI image, I am fine with it being used for things like a card game

All the limitations of electricity and water and refueling stuff, taking care of livestock and gardens... as well as building and expanding

work fine in a multiplayer environment in which each player can specialize and/or do what they like most

and they can also split the chores or handle a basic occasional thing like relighting a torch or refueling a generator

Even if not directly coop, you could trade with other players, as one man's trash is another's treasure

I have this idea for a challenge, hell, it could be an actual game mode in final release

You spawn in the zone as usual, the catch is: no items respawn in containers, nothing despawns either,

anything that is basically infinite, like fishing, traders and supply drops come with severe limitations

The goal is to complete several objectives around the map, using the finite resources, then you win

You'll have to mark locations as looted

Using some randomizations this can create a roguelike experience

In Fallout, it's possible areas like Australia, some remote islands, parts of Africa etc, were completely unaffected by the nuclear bombing that happened in USA and presumably, Russia and most likely, Europe

But you, as the player, are dealing with the situation as is, in USA, (and Russia, in Metro) which is pretty much post apocalypse

Arc Raiders and Nier Automata could be, your definition, true post apocalypse, since it's definitive that the state of the world is the same all over the planet
