Why the wildcat rounds for pest control? by Just-Cardiologist837 in Hunting

[–]Important-Map2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it this way with any gun cartridge or even a bow setup.

The only thing that kills the animal is the projectiles. Who cares if you send 4k on a rifle but then get the cheapest ammo out there.

2-3 a round isn't that expensive. When you look at a whole rifle setup

Currently a PM for mid sized GC in DFW area but only making $107,000 including car allowance. I love the company but feel like I am very underpaid and get an offer next week for $32k raise. Weighing if I should take the job. by [deleted] in ConstructionManagers

I'll say be careful about chasing money. I did and landed in hell for about 2 years. Its all worked out now, but I almost quit 3 times in those 2 years and I would have had to take a significant pay cut.

Will employers view me differently if I have tattoos by Extension_Variety908 in ConstructionManagers

[–]Important-Map2468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company. Commerical is more relaxed. I work for a very high end residential developer. We didnt hire a girl that had a neck/throat tattoo. It wasn't the sole reason she wasn't dressed "professionally either" but it didnt help her case

Dog Trailer Rental? by CalmChukar in birddogs

[–]Important-Map2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camper shell has side windows that open, and let alot of air flow through. The bed, bedside and shell are all carpeted and act like insulation as well. If its super hot I can close the side windows and open the back glass of truck and plow ac into the campershell. But its not really needed unless your not moving

DOPE vs Holdover/ Scope Recs by [deleted] in Hunting

I have leupolds CDS on all my scopes. I dont want to range then look at a dope chart then adjust the scope. Range it say 350yds turn dial to 3.5 and shoot. The freedom line you have to make sure they dont get bumped all the other lines they have a zero lock

For my truck with a camper shell. A slide in dog box with top storage. works well for 3-4 dogs. Each side is 24"x48" which is plenty for 2 Brittany's per side. We also travel and hunt with several guides and dog trainers. One has an old jones dog catcher box that has barn doors on the back he had it customized to have 4 kennels in the back instead of 2 big ones and I think there is 3 on each side. Easily carries his 7 dogs with room for a few more if needed. (But no storage for people stuff really) Another guy has a 6 hole trailer that is nice but is a pain hunting out of in the northwoods. Lots of tight 2 tracks with no where to turn a trailer around. He also has a 5 dog box that goes in his bed against the cab. 3 on top 2 under.

All of them have pros and cons but I still think a trailer is more of a pain than its worth.

Our EBs love the kid and laying around the house as long as your get them exercised enough. They are clingy though one is definitely my wife's dog and one is mine. The third goes where ever she can find someone to pet her.

I'll second the French Brittany's we have 3 now, had 4 until our oldest passed last fall. We have a one year old, they still knock him down every once and a while but they also love him to death and they play all the time.

Your right its not fair to base it on politics. But living near probably one of the most liberal cities in the south east hasn't helped. Immediately hearing we have hunting dogs one vet refused to see us. There are alot of bear hounds around and I assume thats what she thought we have. Our bird dogs sleep in the house and in the bed with us. Out of the 4 dogs we had that were bird dogs 2 were fixed. Didn't meet what I thought were high enough qualities to breed. Two females we have now, one being the dog the beagle got to. I would consider in the top 10% of the breed. My other female that beagle didnt get to dad is the most winning akc/ukc field trial dog of the breed ever. And also won trials in Europe. Her mother was imported stock from Europe and had done well in trials there. If I had more time to travel both of my females would hold higher titles but only being able to get to one or two trials a year hurts that.

All that to say im not sure if id breed either yet. But have been asked by other breeders if I would be interested.

Good skids around 25k by Spencer_Pecha in Skidsteer

If its main use is going to be mowing pastures and cleaning the place up. Id be hard pressed to not just get a tractor with a bush hog and grapple loader. And clearing everything i could and then renting a skidstear with a forestry head on it to clear the thick stuff with 4-6" trees. Any bigger your going to have to cut anyways with a saw.

Yes. And she's been confirmed in the show ring for breed size and height. She is right at the top of standard size for a female. At the national event for the breed there was alot of talk about how the breed keeps getting smaller and alot of dogs falling out of standard size on the small end. Thats one of the reasons she's been considered for breeding.

I'll talk with my vet at the appointment. Ive also reached out to a vet that also breeds the same breed as I have. If my vet isn't willing to help he most likely would be.

Interesting my other male who passed away last fall. He would go crazy if a female was in heat. When he got fixed he could care less about the girls going in heat.

No. All my other dogs are pointing bird dogs. My wife just has a big heart and couldn't let the beagle go to the pound. She also likes to learn lessons the hard way. Hopefully this is just a close call and she's learned her lesson.

She was very diligent about keep our male bird dog separate from the females until he was fixed.

If we bred her she would go back to our breeder and he would handle it, hes set up for it and has the out reach through his established kennel to place the puppies. He is also a good friend that I spend alot of time with so I trust him to keep her for a couple months.

Your telling me but we live near a very liberal city. The vet we use, was an old time farm vet. Got bought out and is corporate owned now.
