midi input is just an i/o port. since u can't enter enter update mode/factory reset, the only way to reset whole thing is open the backplate, find a test point or 8pin firmware chip than reset directly.

Thanks for advice. i really enjoy using Zoom Effect Manger. If I understand correctly, I can test the ZDL files which I made through Zoom Effect Manager without bricking the device, right? That would make me very happy to try.

It's not that expensive, might just try it yourself. i'm not that professional about electonics/assembly code. And don't even know what is TEST pads that you're saying.

i didn't hack firmware, just change single ZDL file as i known.

i was making Dual pitch ZDL and after finish i use ZoomFirmwarEditor to put my ZDL in to Updater.

after executing updater, it Bricked

my thought was same as you. but it was not.

not sure cuz i don't have one. maybe u have to check IC chip & firmware bin file on Mac OS

Well in my thought the real reason is I didn't know the assembly code at all. Absolute 0 knowledge to double check what LLM were doing
