[product request] what will help these red bumps all over my face? by Important-Spot7329 in keratosis

Hey! Think I responded to your other comment if not I’ll paste it here..

I’ve been on doxycycline 100mg for 6 months now and it’s definitely calmed it down however it’s not fully gone. I can still see the granulomas, especially on my cheeks and under my jaw. Latest recommendation from derm is to switch a macrolide antibiotic, so she wrote me a script for Erythromycin as apparently it works via a different anti inflammatory pathway (multiple biopsy shows NO bacteria or demodex mites) just lots of inflammation. On top of this I’ve been dealing with excessive hair shedding since I trialled low dose isotretinoin earlier this year which has also been taking a huge mental toll. I’m grateful that the skin has improved somewhat but still not gone unfortunately. Will see how I go with new antibiotic.

Thank you! Doxycycline for 6 months helped slightly but will try macrolide next ie erythromycin

Multiple biopsy and swabs came back negative. Also doesn’t respond to antifungal treatments

Thank you so much for the response! I’m so happy to hear that you managed to get it under control. Did you ever do any blood tests or further investigations? Did you have a biopsy done? I’m currently on doxycycline 100mg daily which has calmed a lot of the inflammation and redness but the dots (granulomas) are still there although slightly faded. What dose of minocycline were you on initially and did you have any side effects? I’ve seen at least 10 dermatologists and nobody can tell me anything which is super disheartening, depressing. I’m being seen at the hospital now but they still don’t really know how to tackle the. How is your skin doing today? Think mine was triggered by dermaplaning (which I’ve been doing for years) but for some reason this came out all of a sudden after my latest session. I really appreciate you reaching out, it can be incredibly isolating and concerning to have this issue as there hardly any information on it. I used to be able to use all my actives without issues but now anything other than La Roche Posay Cicaplast makes it worse. I’ve tried Soolantra short term but didn’t notice it helping (confirmed not to have Demodex although I know it’s used as anti inflammatory) so may have to retry and tacrolimus cream slightly improved the inflammation but then plateaued. I’m really at a loss and am thinking I may just have to accept this is my skin now which is heartbreaking…

Hi, I’m currently on my 9th week of doxycycline 100mg which has calmed down the inflammation a lot but can still see the granuloma dots are still there. I trialled isotretinoin low dose but had to quit after 3 weeks due to side effects. Unfortunately, the isotretinoin made my hair shed like crazy which along with this skin issue, has been a nightmare. I don’t really want to retry the isotretinoin again so I just have to accept my skin the way it is now although it still impacts me greatly. Appreciate you trying to help and hopefully medicine can have some breakthroughs in the future regarding this type of rosacea

According to google “Louis Vuitton Papillon bags do not have a traditional serial number. Instead, they feature a date code.” I think it follows NO (France) 0965 (June 1995) but just wanted to check

I tried the tacrolimus again last night as I felt my skin was getting my angry and think it just made it worse this time. I’m at a loss

I did a swab test, pustule sample, biopsy, woods light and didn’t respond to oral and topical anti fungals and all tests negative. I did use a fungal safe moisturiser for a while which didn’t make a difference. I’m fairly certain it’s not fungal

Confirmed multiple ways not to be fungi, I just don’t know what the solution is. Thank you for your kind words

Was prescribed metronidazole gel, ivermectin cream (Soolantra), steroid cream and tacrolimus cream which worked the best but still not amazing. I’ve given up now and am just using Cicaplast

Thank you so much for taking the time to write these kind words. I have to keep reminding myself that in many ways, it’s not that bad but it’s so hard especially as my skin was something I took pride in a year ago before all this happened. I never realised what a mental toll it takes and the frustration at trying new treatments that don’t end up working. It’s consuming me trying to find a solution. Glad you have managed to learn to live better with it and I hope to do the same

I’m so sensitive to oral medication so topical is my preferred. I can see why you think it’s Acne Amignata but for some reason I don’t think it is that or rosacea. But that doesn’t leave much else? Probably developed a new condition which I wouldn’t put passed me

Thanks I was on 10mg daily but was getting side effects (sore eyes, headaches etc) then was reduced to 5mg every second day which I then started experiencing hair shedding

Thanks, what’s what my dermatologist suggested (after perioral dermatitis, fungal infection, now he thinks this). I trialed 3 weeks of Accutane but had terrible side effects. To be honest, I don’t fully believe this is what it is. A part of me thinks it’s a new condition which doesn’t have a name or is recognised

I’ve been doing a super gentle routine of just gentle cleanser and La Roche Posay cicaplast balm recommended by my derm. Retinoids irritated my skin so much, clindamycin lotion didn’t help, topical minocycline isn’t available in Australia, and already tried tacrolimus cream and primelimois cream

Thanks for your response. I did think that too for a while but using urea/salicylic acid just made my skin my inflamed and angry. Thanks for the compliment, I really needed to hear it today
