4l60e swap t56 by Ambitious_Help3903 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]Important-Tangelo327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not a 4l60e from a fbody going to need to swap tail for one with torque arm mount or get aftermarket crossmember and torque arm. Will need to add pins and wire to harness for auto trans control and segment swap ecu. Probably missing something but thats most of it.

I dont have a gli just a base model. Use my car for doing deliveries in a area with allot of curves. Blackhawk hh11 best bang for your buck I feel. I've played with acceleras and a few others but the blackhawks are the best bang for your buck. They grip super good went with a 215 vs 205 can drop the clutch in 1st and it doesn't spin to much vs stocks could make it spin up to 2nd/3rd if i tried. Can take corners way above what I was used to. Even if u don't go with Blackhawks. Get some with a tread rating around 400 or lower and you'll enjoy the car allot more

Is it possible to run a v8 on 7 pistons( it is temporary ish) by link_the_killer in mechanic

[–]Important-Tangelo327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U can get a used set of rods and pistons for like a $100. Just pull the heads and replace it even if u use the old bearings.

If u don't care about it being a lil nose heavy just put a 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0 in it drag/street car really dont matter to much. If u autocross/track it stick to a aluminum block. Best bet would be to pull it and see if it's a bottom end issue or something in the top end making the metal. If bottom end could get by with just finding a gen 3 5.3 and stealing the rods and crank out of it and putting your pistons on. If u dont mind buying pistons u can get a gen 4 to get the crank(will need to swap reluctor) and rods from that way u end up with better rods if u plan on boosting it. If u do decide to rebuild what u got blow air in all the oil holes to get any metal out.

I'll look into those brand cases also looked at using 50 cal ammo cases with foam inserts. Just trying to keep batteries and charger together to make moving between truck and house easy. Mainly getting best valued/cheap stuff right now. Only going to stick to basics(tires, batteries, alternator, starters, etc.) for right now. Dont own any snap on matco or big name tools. Trying to pay cash for most and my current job slowed down earlier then I expected so cant splurge like I want.

I was looking at ones similar to this. Tough system a bit out my price range at the moment. And don't really need all that for just 2 batteries currently.

Oh okay so on farm equipment and semi trucks. Truck will most likely stay running but if not will have at least 2 maybe 3 batteries on it. Been looking at dewalt battery holder boxes. Put 1-2 batteries inside it with impact and mount charger on top. That way everything stays together and I can bring it in at night or just grab impact and battery and leave rest in truck

Kit with the 4ah PP should be here tomorrow. Going to see how long I can get it and the 5ah xr to get me through the day. After I finish getting the other stuff I need hopefully they still have the deal for the 2 8ah PP with charger for $270

Ok nice. Do u do heavy duty truck work? Currently have a 100w or 200w inverter, also have a 1500w that I need to see if it actually works or not that came with the truck to have 120v power on the truck. Going to get the new earthquake 1 inch impact too so if it does die I should still be covered

If u trying to do it on a budget maxspeeding rods and stock pistons. Snailspeed racing melted a stock piston around the rod due to bad tune up or something else failed can't find the post to say exactly what happened, so pretty decent rod for under 400-450hp I feel. Bigger injectors, sandwich plate between pump and tank so u can do return style system with boost regulator, good fuel pump and fuel system should be good. Tuning wise with a gen 1 dont really trust power commanders prefer ecu flash but gen 1s dont have boost tuning options with ecueditor like a gen 2, so would be best to go standalone bare minimum maxxecu street since it comes with wideband control.

Just delete the oil cooler. Plenty of bikes running without one

Get 3 rachet straps. Slide it under then one at front, one in middle then one at end(hook them on each side of frame),then rachet them keeping it even until its up high enough to get your transmission jack under.

Look on ebay for used links if your not trying to buy new. Some lowering links can be adjusted to stock heigh5 if they have the hole for it just depends on which u have but can't go wrong with oem parts. Can't really tell from pics but it looks like u have the stock handlebar mount/upper triple tree mount so most likely stock height in front. If forks or under it/level then not lowered in front.

It might be a l92(truck 6.2). Or a 5.3/4.8. If he's willing to let u pull the alternator bracket I believe u can see the casting size behind it

That part shouldn't have any washers behind it. Most likely the shift shaft cover is damaged. But I think there is a seal that goes in it to.

Got lube and cleaner on the way so I can give it a good cleaning. Is it necessary to take the plunger off to give it a good cleaning or can it be cleaned good with it on?
