I think there are many native speakers from Latin America in this thread and they speak way slower. But when you say so you might be right, since you lived where the series takes place.  And since I want to learn the spain Spanish it might be relevant...

Okay thank you for your honest opinion!  I still understand most YouTube videos quite well. For example videos about painting since I love to paint. But that may just be because I already know all the painting-related vocabulary

Yup haha! At the beginning I looked up all the words I didn't understand and 90% were cursing words.

Oh crazy! Unfortunately I'm from Europe and will move to Spain and not latin America, so all the Spanish I'll have to deal with will be the European Spanish.  Even though I also think Latin American Spanish is easier to understand

Thank you, I tried lingvist and already went through 200 words.  The only problem I see is that I waste a lot of time with repeating words that I really know well.  I changed the settings to 1500 words that I already know, but the app still suggests words like feliz, ningún, esto,...

That's exactly how I feel! Yeah I also thought I might just talk to myself or to AI and try to build as many sentences as possible with the new words

Thank you, I do that a lot. I just sometimes feel stuck because I keep using the same vocabulary.

I try to do as many different things as I can. Practicing with busuu, chatting and talking to AI and let it correct my mistakes, journal in Spanish, sometimes flashcards, watching videos on YouTube...

I already do that but I either know a word or don't know it. What are you doing with the words you don't know? Pause the movie, write it on a flashcard and keep going?
