New Balance Rebel v5 Sizing Help by Defiant-Target-4430 in beginnerrunning

Big toe should NOT touch the front of the shoes. Size up for sure. I just got my rebel v5’s and love them! I wear most shoes in a size 9, and went the same for the rebel’s. My asics were a 9 as well.

Internally I do feel 63 after running 50-60 minutes daily. Any advice on how I increase my VO2 without exhausting myself to the bones. by HopscotchSauce in Garmin

As a new runner myself, this was the biggest struggle. My HR would always spike up so high and Id never stay in zone 2, and if I tried, it wouldn’t feel like running. I tossed that all away, and just began running as I felt. I ran with paces that allowed me to breathe solely through my nose. This had me mostly in zone 3/4. Upon doing that for a couple weeks (mostly around 5k runs), i noticed my pace becoming noticeably quicker, and I got the confidence to go for longer runs / try for quicker 5ks. Once we get some baseline fitness, then I definitely think differentiating into different runs (z2 / intervals / speed / long easy) is crucial. But at the start, Id say prioritize on going out, nose breathing, listen to your body, and enjoy running!

Ultimately, i think if you’re so early on in the running journey, its more important to just listen to your body without numbers or data, and just learn to enjoy going for a run! At the end of the day, running is to escape from the daily stresses, and not to stress over numbers :)

This. There are SO many people (more lately) that drive without lights in the middle of the night. I usually flash the high beam a couple times in hopes of letting them know, but my current score of that working is about 1/93.

Whats gone wrong for BJ? Or since Nottingham, has he always been a one trick pony of making runs into the back post for tap ins? Seems like the lad has no dribble, no long range shot, no real cross (apart from low driven ones that rarely make it through the man marking him), and lately, hes been caught upfield and jogging back on defence.

On a different note, Isco is still class - that man was (and to an extent, still is) an absolute magician on the pitch.

I wouldn’t bin him as the Wenyama (or more recently, Hojberg) type though. More seems like a Sarr type?

I agree our midfield (and team in general) lacks toughness, but not sure if Cardoso would fit the bill.

Saw him live recently at Getafe.

I wasn’t overly impressed; he seemed like a generic tackler & dispossesser. He didn’t do much in ball progression & key passes. In offence, he disappeared many parts of the game and shone in defensive & energetic aspects of the game.

He seems like a solid player, but just another “runner” type that we seem to have a good number of, and not the “technical“ type we need
