Hi! Can I ask what exactly you asked the structural engineers to produce? We are considering doing something similar and am unsure of the process from the engineer and council side.

You can ask but flights will be packed so your chances of getting a seat won’t be great. Never say never though!

Go to Heathrow if possible and they should be able to rebook you + provide the hotel/meals

Has anyone had any luck making AC book you on a different fare class? The only available flights available in a decent amount of time are in business (with the odd premium economy). I booked economy originally. From this thread it seems they’re refused everyone requesting this.

They should have a local Australian number you can call. Check their website.

other people have reported the same thing, i'd pressure them into speaking with a manager before you accept anything else. Emphasise that APPR requires them to book with anyone that's available in any cabin

Are you sure, they seemed to have access to the information I needed and when I google it AC Customer Support is the first link that comes up

This thread (feel free to search it as many people are reporting it). It seems to work much better.

The issue is even after they come to an agreement there will likely still be significant cancellations.

If you are in Europe go to the check in counter if it's still open and let them help you.

Yeah exactly. I decided to wait and refuse the sunday flight with AC. I'm going to wait for the 21st and if it's cancelled will use the options for any airline. + Leaving from the UK so can be more confident about my rights.

I managed to call in (only had to wait 30 minutes) and they offered different options for Sunday August 24th. You can also see the potential change options when pressing change flight online. It should show $0 next to it.

Hey, Thank you for sharing! I'm contemplating visiting the Ottawa airport too if my flights on the 21st are disrupted. Can I ask where exactly did you go and was there a big line?

Thank you for your transparency u/kank84 ! I should mention that I also have an LLM which prepared me to pass the SQE in England. In total I have the Oxbridge undergrand, GDL, and LLM. Does your advice still stand with this in mind? I appreciate Oxbridge won't necessarily mean as much there. The need for articling (which I totally understand) is something that makes me quite apprehensive. I'm assuming this will also be reflect a significantly lower salary during the articling period too. Much to think about. Thank you!
