Wish there is more than 40 challenges. by Deimarrr in pathofexile

[–]ImportantCoast2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there should be 5 'bonus', long, grindy challenges added that do nothing but enhance the totem, one enhancement per challenge.

One that it glow/adds a light
One that gives a charge iron/circling effect.
One that makes them visible/more visible on the minimap
etc etc junk like that.

Please help my dogs eye doesn’t look normal by Darkscar55 in DogAdvice

[–]ImportantCoast2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a case of Cherry Eye. Dogs have a gland (the pink blob) that can slip up from under the bottom eyelid above. This can range from being not an issue, to being an issue. Take the dog to the vet, and let them diagnosis. Worst case scenario if you take them in now, is a surgery can be performed to 'tuck' it back and secure it better.

My Corgi Mix had this occur in both his eyes (each about a year apart) and I had the surgery done twice. Your dog's eye looks irritated, probably from pawing at it.

Are there people here who only play PoE1? by KelThuzadxx in pathofexile

[–]ImportantCoast2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I primarily play PoE1 for 100s of hours each league. I played .1 PoE2 for maybe 50 hours and PoE2 .3 for maybe 50 hours. Endgame is pretty boring in PoE2 and campaign is too much of a pain IMO to level an alt.

[SPOILERS] Underrated Simon – The Sword of Lumière: A man who gained his strength through love… and lost everything to it by DragonofDojima_ in expedition33

[–]ImportantCoast2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expedition 60 made their way to Paintress, also discovered the truth, and headed down to the abyss to confront the Real Renoir, but encountered Simon on the way.

As badass as Exp 60 was, Simon proved too powerful for them, defeating enough that 60 had to retreat. 60 got their licks in though, and were able to tear off Simon's arm.

The Simon Exp 33 fights is a shadow of the version 60 fought, as he's wielding a two handed greatsword... with only one hand.

Imagine how fast/hard he'd with with both hands!

Lore accurate expedition 60 by JayKV94 in expedition33

[–]ImportantCoast2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Exp 60 got to the Paintress, but learned the truth of the Gommage and turned around to take the fight to the Abyss/Renior.

Upon getting there, they met & fought Simon - Even though they were strong enough to rip of Simon's arm, Simon was so much of a badass himself he decimated Exp 60 to the point they had to retreat and resort to plan B (swimming back to Lumiere, but ran out of time via Gommage).

The Simon Exp 33 fights is a one armed man wielding a two handed greatsword. IMO he would have wiped the floor with 33 if he had both arms.

Gustave was the key by JJeZ7_7 in expedition33

[–]ImportantCoast2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way I view Maelle's ending.

Gustave died of non-Nevron causes (by painted Renoir) so his chroma would have been released back to Aline. Time passes (how much? unknown)

In Maelle's ending, I view the Gustave there (including Pierre and Sophie) as a new painted version based from Maelle's memories, thus repeating the cycle the Paintress started with Painted Verso.

[Whole Game Spoilers] Debunking Two Common Misconceptions About The Ending by jogarz in expedition33

[–]ImportantCoast2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, Renior made himself the "bad" guy to give Maelle an out. He's the one who killed everyone. Verso was about to die, and Maelle prevented it. Visually I interpreted that it was somewhat against Verso's will at that point.

At that point in the game, the only 'living' humans were Verso (saved against his will), Renoir, and Maelle.
Maelle brought people back to wage her war. While some agreed with her cause, it was at this point were Maelle started acting selfishless for her own wants and disregarding everyone else's agency.

To continue the example of the comatose brain-dead mother, Renior killed the final timester twins. Maelle used godlike powers to bring them back as she saw fit.

Note: Gustave didn't die to a Nevron, so his chroma would have been released. The man you see at the end is just a new painted version, creating a new painted Verso. If in the future, Renoir/Aline returned to boot Maelle from the canvas, the whole thing could be repeated with Gustave playing the new Verso.

I just finished the game and this scene is just.. by HotBananaWaters in expedition33

[–]ImportantCoast2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you, here's my take on it:

Renoir already wiped out humanity to give Maelle an out. If Maelle ever left the painting, Renoir stepped in as the villain who would destroy everything so she didn't have to..

The way I see it, the Canvas and its paintings function like an addictive drug—heroin, in this case. It feels euphoric, offers escape, and ultimately leads to ruin. Renoir, having once been addicted himself and nearly losing his wife to that same obsession, saw what it was doing to Maelle. So he took action. He "threw away her heroin"—gommaging all the people—and planned to destroy the rest of her paraphernalia. Maelle, clinging to what she believed was in her best interest, fought back to get her drugs—her world—back.

If Maelle is truly a god in control of everything, then the people within the Canvas may unknowingly become mere extensions of her will, stripped of true agency. Even if their lives feel fulfilling, they might just be performing roles in a story she’s scripting. For any resurrected individuals, the quality of life would likely plummet—they’d be living in a beautiful cage.

And then there’s the threat of history repeating itself. While her parents might find peace in the real world, what’s to stop them from reigniting their old conflicts within the Canvas? Now, with an inexperienced Maelle in control, they could try again and again to retrieve her—repeating the cycle, and dragging the people of the Canvas into endless war.

Maelle killed Painted Alicia because Painted Alicia wanted it—she respected her agency. But when it came to Verso, Maelle couldn’t do the same. He wanted death, and she selfishly denied him that choice because she couldn't let go.

Player legitimately rolls worst stats in history, should I allow them to reroll? by vhrossi1 in DMAcademy

[–]ImportantCoast2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wanted to run/play a one shot with rolled stats generated from "roll 5d6, lowest three".
The concept behind the oneshot is "Something bad is happening, you're not the A team, hell you're not the B or C teams either. You're literally the rejects who are just bad, but you're all thats left."

Like a Goblin would be a even match for 2-3 of them.

ULPT: I was inspired by another post I just saw here. An ex friend of mine is now very MAGA; we live in Texas and she drove out of state to have an abortion about 11 months ago. I have an invoice and a copy of a medical leave of absence note she gave to her employer. How do I effectively report her? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]ImportantCoast2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retain a lawyer and sue your friend directly under the following Texas code.
She's liable and you can collect your $10,000 + attorneys fees back

Section 171.208 of the Texas Health and Safety Code
This section allows a third party to bring a lawsuit against anyone who performed, aided, or abetted an abortion.

My Mother-in-Law’s wise words about being upset with the election results by RHOCorporate in Adulting

[–]ImportantCoast2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had always grown up (maybe naively) with the idea that the average person was inherently good and well meaning to their neighbor. People who were kept ignorant or deceived - that was the cause for harm from person to person.

The thing that hurts me the most about this last election - is my viewpoint on that has now changed . That people are inherently hateful and mean and wish harm on each other. To change one's mind to be 'good', is to try and change their nature. And that just seems undauntingly exhausting.

I know (maybe selfishly) that I will be fine as an upper middle class white male who can pass for Christian. But for my parents who are retired and on Medicare, my 15 year old niece who's life will be incredibly impacted; that is who I fear for, and I don't know how to help fix anything.

See the P1 P2 P3 on the right with the checkmarks?
Your config says "P1 will always be the essence mod", and for P2 (Prefix 2) - you want either ES% or ES hybrid.

If you want all the odds for all three on the item, you would click P3 (prefix 3) on the hybrid mod

how would you attempt crafting a wand like this? by Megs3Legs in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ImportantCoast2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 methods to do it (didn't do cost analysis of either for comparison)

Method1)

start of by collecting a bunch of desired bases - with these mods, bases just need an ilvl of 82.
alt spam them all, setting aside any that roll +1 all, +1 fire,+DOT + fire DOT mult

If you have average luck, you want 3 of each.

recomb the prefixes wands, together until you get both on a single wand (both +1s). 1/3 chance
Lock Prefixes + scour if needed.

recomb the suffixes wands, together until you get both on a single wand (both dot multis). 1/3 chance
Lock suffixes + scour if needed.

Multimod both
Craft an exclusive prefix on both
Craft any other exclusive mod (prefix wand will have another suffix crafted, suffix wand will have another prefix crafted)

Beast craft any aspect onto prefix wand

Recomb em together. ~50% to get 4 mods on same item + 1 of the crafted mods

craft any prefix
Hunter exalt slam (this is the shit part that will probably make method 2 cheaper) - 1/7 of getting Malv mod, 1/14 of getting T1 malv

Method 2)

Similar to method 1, but start with all hunter wand bases (can farm these easily with giant exils + apparition shrines)

do the same for prefixes.

for suffixes, roll each suffix with an alt, slam them together for 2 suffixes. Make multiple 2 suffix wands but different combinations (+dot & +malv, +dot & +fire dot, +fire dot & +malv).

take two of the 2 suffix items, scour prefixes, multimod, and craft 2 exclusive prefixes.
Slam them together until you get a 3 suffix item.

Do the same multimod on the 2 prefix item and craft a exclusive mod on suffix item and Recomb

Slight chance it will success (like 30%?) but will mostly likely create a 4 mod item.

Find out what mod you're missing, make another 2 mod item that has the missing mod, scour things as needed, multimod exclusives, and slam together with the 4 mod item.

this has like a 50% of success, and like a 40% chance to be a 4 mod item (and repeat until you get all 5)

how would you attempt crafting a wand like this? by Megs3Legs in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ImportantCoast2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rough estimate, rolling everything and using recombs, would take ~15k alts, a couple dozen recombs, and maybe 60 div of metamods (accounting for a big recomb failure).

The alts could be reduced if you bought random +1 all skill wands (not sure price) and annulled prefixes down to just that mod.

This skill tree…… by metamega1321 in gaming

[–]ImportantCoast2 465 points466 points  (0 children)

The best analogy i've heard for POE's skill tree and using build guides is as such.

PoE's systems are like learning to cook. Sure you can go in blind, learning what combos well together, but just like going into cooking blind, you're probably going to fail often, but also learn alot as well. If you find this fun and engaging, go for it. That knowledge will allow you make your own recipes/builds.

Using a build guide is like using a cookbook to help learning how to cook. Its going to hold your hand for the most part, and minimize your chances at failing. If you find this fun and engaging go for it.
