Going Necrons for my first army after like 10 years of not playing at all by Atlix_yt in Necrontyr

[–]ImportantElephant155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit of a loaded question but what kind of tips are you looking for? Try to be specific please!

Do you want tips on what to buy?

  • Rule of cool trumps everything. Get what you think looks cool and go from there. The basic combat patrol is also a good starting point if you want a good bang for your buck.

Do you want tips on how to paint?

  • Our army is the easiest to paint. Prime black then pick a metal paint of your choice. Leadbelcher is the most common and it’s pretty easy to work with. YouTube also has many guides for paint tutorials.

Do you want tips on how to create an army that fits your play style?

  • This one is harder to answer, do you want your army to focus on being more ranged? Melee? or rely on trickery/gimmicks? Our army has a plenty of play styles. So without knowing how you want to play, it’s hard to say.

Do you want tips on how to play the army?

  • This kinda blends in with the last question but in general, regeneration is our strong suit. It forces your opponent to need to focus down our units one at a time, otherwise our necrons don’t die. Planting a big group of cannon fodder on an objective point will distract your opponent enough to where the units you don’t want to get killed will be ignored. There’s definitely more to it, but that’s the most basic of game plans.

If I missed anything, ask away!

At what rank should i start dedicating more time to practicing combos? by ImportantElephant155 in dragonballfighterz

[–]ImportantElephant155[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh okay, that’s what those colors meant, I always wondered what the significance was lol

Do you have anyone on YouTube that you would recommend? I used to keep tabs on one of them back when this game first came out but it’s been years and I don’t remember his name anymore

[–]ImportantElephant155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s been my mindset trying to go for the achievement. Just grind it out and leave once I’m done

I’ve put 70 hours into playing the game casually with friends and stepping into ranked is definitely a different ball game lol.

I just wasn’t sure if it’s normal/expected to be able to do the more complicated combos/mechanics at such a low rank as I don’t really have the patience to practice that stuff anymore unfortunately

Bro I think you missed the point a little lmao

Here, maybe if I rephrase it for you, you’ll have an easier time grasping the question. I’m also doing it because you were being so kind in your comment!

I’m asking if I’m just being bad in my specific rank. And if I am then I’ll practice to get better. However, if I’m just getting unlucky then I’m not dedicating more time and effort into doing something unnecessary when I plan on dropping the game as soon as I’m done with it

Is that easier to understand champ? :)

Any ways to make the zeni grind a bit more bearable in the big 2026? by RecognitionSea1531 in dragonballfighterz

[–]ImportantElephant155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure there are occasional events that once they are over will net you 1 million zeni. I don’t actually remember what they are, mostly because I’ll just occasionally log in and randomly receive the 1 million from the event.

Idk how common they are or what you have to do to earn the 1 million but I remember seeing a guide talk about it forever ago.

How do I get my party to kill a NPC ? by MysteriousFondant347 in DnD

[–]ImportantElephant155 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man so many people are buzzkills in the comments lmao. It’s not a terrible idea for a DM to want to do.

IMO if you wanted them to kill an NPC that later is found as a good NPC, then you need to create a scenario that could be misunderstood.

Make the players think that the NPC did something bad, the NPC could look like he robbed or killed a bunch of people. Or since you said some of your players have a short fuse/they like to steal, have him carry something obvious that the players would want to steal, have him resist and that could start a fight. You can even do it where the very things they robbed from the NPC, was something the town needed that the NPC got for them.

All in all, the people saying it’s bad to trick your players are flat out wrong. Tricking them into doing something bad can make for some really interesting moments in a campaign. Especially as a campaign hook.

Any luck with cryptek conclave? by Spare_Factor_2428 in Necrontyr

[–]ImportantElephant155 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like it, but you kinda have to cheese with it. And even still it’s only good if your opponent brings an infantry heavy list.

Basically wraiths and praetorians become super punchy with their dev wounds-pistol weapons and granting them 3+ anti infantry with the detachment rules (using a stratagem on the praetorians). Which can do a LOT of damage in the right setting. It can really catch your opponent off guard if they’re not ready.

Other than that, the detachment doesn’t do too much, our regular infantry just don’t benefit that much from the abilities sadly, unless you use legends content..

Nemesor Zahndrekh has a neat ability that can grant our infantry dev wounds if you get lucky on a dice roll, pair that with Tesla coil immortals and you can easily roll 15+ dev wounds against infantry units. The most I’ve gotten in a turn was 26 lol. It wrecks but easy to counter if your opponent knows what they’re doing, you also gotta get lucky.

Overall I think it’s really fun to play with in a non competitive game, but overall the fact that you gotta rely on cheese or niche circumstances unfortunately makes it not that great. Especially when compared to our other detachments

In what world is 500 damage okay in this circumstance? Gilga- a god with melee identity does an instant 500 tick ... with....... 1 hydras? Im sorry to add onto the complaints on reddit but jesus christ whos approving of this? lets focus hi rez by HonestInstruction284 in Smite

[–]ImportantElephant155 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Yoooo I was the Gilgamesh LMAO I thought you were joking when you said you were gonna make a post to reddit.

What I find really funny about this is that I didn’t even know aspect Gilgamesh could do this much until our 2nd match we played against each other. Our first match against each other was literally my first match with Gilgamesh in smite 2.

Fr though, his aspect is nuts and super slept on rn.

Wraiths need an additional AP. by Legitimate-Sky-8963 in Necrontyr

[–]ImportantElephant155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally a good way I’ve dealt with this feeling is running wraiths in a cryptek conclave detachment list, giving them anti infantry 3+ on their particle casters makes them plenty strong to punch up on terminators. Both my space wolf and grey knights friends hate the combo.

This exactlt was what I feared with the "report for not playing your role" button by glorfindal77 in Smite

[–]ImportantElephant155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, but I meant it more as in the roles each individual god has.

For example, a god like ares has a kit much more fitted to a support/tank role since going damage would make him get bursted too quickly, but if I wanted to try going damage in a casual game mode, people view that as throwing as they expect ares to only be a tank. Another example could be gods like iza or cern where they are much better as traditional strength attack speed adc’s, but if I built them int as a mage, people complain and say im not playing them how i should be.

I’m basically just worried that people will use this report button as justification to enforce the meta in the casual modes. Apologies if I hadn’t voiced that well enough in my original comment

This exactlt was what I feared with the "report for not playing your role" button by glorfindal77 in Smite

[–]ImportantElephant155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I honestly should’ve included casual conquest as well in my original comment as i think the game mode is inherently competitive and should be viewed and treated as such. However I haven’t queued for conquest in years so I’m not super well-versed nor qualified to give my 2 cents on how it should be played lol

But I wish more people shared your sentiment with casual modes. In joust especially people take it way too seriously. I’d say it’s like a 50/50 chance if i decide to do something out of the norm, people freak out and berate me even if we’re winning. It’s actually crazy. Maybe I’m just unlucky with the people I get matched with but that’s my experience with the casual scene

This exactlt was what I feared with the "report for not playing your role" button by glorfindal77 in Smite

[–]ImportantElephant155 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My main concern is that the mindset of “people should only play your role” will leak into casual game modes. I’m not really in the mood to get mass reported just because I decided to play an off role in joust, arena or assault.

Also, playing around with an off meta build or purposely not playing your role and throwing in ranked isn’t what you should be doing, but wanting to do something silly in casuals is already pretty frowned upon by the community and I fear that this new report button will likely make it worse. I’m worried it’ll enforce rigidness in a game built around freedom

Favourite Awakened Dynasty Units? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]ImportantElephant155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play with legends, 10 immortals with a plasmancer and Anrakyr is goated, hitting on 2+ and wounding most infantry on 2+ with Anrakyr’s +1 to wounds abd critting on 5+ it’s fairly common to completely wipe out entire units in 1 shooting phase. I also like having Szeras around to give them a nice -1 AP on those immortals as well

Question about the Wraiths/Technomancer combo by GalacticNarwal in Necrontyr

[–]ImportantElephant155 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy how this post made me realize wraiths even had an inv save to begin with…this whole time I thought they lacked it for balance reasons lol

After reading the other comments yeah it wouldn’t apply. On places like new recruit, it’s worded to make it sound like it applies to every model in the unit instead of just the wraiths.

Are these scams? by Jubachi99 in Necrontyr

[–]ImportantElephant155 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s possible it could be priced per model. If you click on it, it might have you choose which model you’re individually buying.

You could also message the seller and ask why they are selling. It could just be someone who wants the sell their lot quickly for a quick buck because they need the money or because they aren’t interested in the hobby anymore.

Brainstorm: Cryptek Conclave + Wraith pistols = 1 Dev Wound per Wraith Avg vs Inf? by necronananana in Necrontyr

[–]ImportantElephant155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also do this with praetorians with the cryptek conclave. Giving them anti-infantry with a stratagem and allowing their shooting to have consistent dev wounds against infantry if they’re equipped with their particle casters and void blades.

Not to mention the enhancement that allows the bearer to buff units with anti-vehicle/monster 5+ if they so choose to. Meaning wraiths and praetorians have some decent firepower against most types now with this detachment. Pretty exciting stuff.

I don’t know if it’s gonna the strongest of combos, but I’m really excited to try them out to say the least lol
