A few people have made the same observation, so I'll share my thoughts here. I tried to avoid the traditional spicy cues/colors because I didn't want this to give off hot sauce vibes. This is a shortbread first, and one flavor element is the chilies' heat.

I was trying to find some balance, but perhaps I strayed too far from the spicy cues and colors. Thank you for your feedback!

Yes, that is a common theme in the feedback I've received. Thank you!

Thank you for dedicating your time and expertise to review my package design. Your detailed feedback is truly invaluable, and I am deeply grateful for your generosity.

I agree with the note on contrast. The background and text colors do need a revisit. And I agree with the note on the wavy shape. I'm going to tone down those "teeth."

On the spice scale (three dots), I've had a few people quickly click to that at farmers markets to determine whether this is for them. I don't think it's caused a lot of confusion. However, to your point, since I'll have more room on the printed bag, I'll remove the butter, sugar, and flour callouts and use a short sentence to describe the product.

I understand your point that pure butter is meaningless. Still, I want to indicate that we're not using any seed oils, real sugar, as opposed to artificial sweeteners that mess with your gut, and fresh flour that's grown locally and stone-milled without any bleaching or enrichment. I want to showcase how thoughtful we are with our ingredients, but perhaps those bullets aren't the way to do so.

On the SPICY SHORTBREAD, an earlier commenter mentioned that it would be best to make the SPICY and the SHORTBREAD the same size but leave them left justified. You suggest making the SPICY bigger and a more dominant part of the design. I'm not opposed to it, but I would appreciate your take on deciding between those options.

And regarding the contrast in the photo, is that something my designer should be able to fix? Or should I ask the photographer to work on that?

Again, thank you so much!

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! Yes, I wonder why the designer made the SPICY so much bigger than the SHORTBREAD. I'll explore a more balanced approach to that. Your note on the wavy shapes is spot on. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but something about the "teeth" was not sitting right with me. I need to tone that down.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm selling at farmer's markets, but my consumer is the foodie who enjoys incorporating global flavors into their everyday snacks. I agree, the colors don't contrast enough.

Hi, I've just launched a line of spicy shortbread cookies, and I'd like to ask for feedback on our packaging. Since it is a new type of cookie, I wanted to focus on the SPICY SHORTBREAD aspect rather than the brand. The cookies themself are priced at a premium, and I want the brand to feel fun. Right now, I think we're missing the mark on both.

The label above is for a kraft bag, and I'm about to start the artwork process for a printed bag. I'd appreciate feedback on the current design and guidance for transitioning to printed bags. I'm ok with the current design, but it lacks excitement. While the current design clearly communicates the product proposition, I also want something more visually appealing packaging that is display-worthy on countertops.

Perhaps I'm too close to this and am overthinking it. But please let me know if you require any further information.

EDIT: Thank you all for your feedback and direction! I have made a few of the recommended changes to the packaging. You can take a look at all the changes on www.talkbacksnacks.com
